I was thinking something cheaper and smaller, but I'll consider this

Up front it's definitely a hard hit to your wallet. You'll have it for the rest of your living life though, and then your children's children's children will still be using them.

Probably mentioned before but firearm cases can be a good fit.  I have a soft shell gun case that is perfect for a TKL... I picked it up from a garage sale for a few bucks.

Edit: I know you want hard shell :)  Just thought I would suggest another avenue for discovery.

CNC foam ftw....

ALTHOUGH it's probably unnecessary, since the majority of what people collect is just junk.. hahahahahah

not in Alienman's case,  since he actually has worthwhile stuff..  but --most people---

wouldn't this not be good for the keys because it may depress them over time, in long term storage causing odd spring tension issues ?

$100 is a fair price to pay to protect a $1k kustom :P

I was lucky enough to get one of the OTD ones and can confirm they're quite nice if you're able to find one second-hand. I only have the one but would love another.

I have one of those hardshell cases. Not really using it right now since my only TKL is in use, but I would love one for a 60% or 1800 keyboard.

I'll probably ask these guys on eBay since they seem to have a lot of specialised cases. Perhaps they can make us one. :P

I took some measurements and figured I could fit 3 TKL-size boards in a Pelican 1500 case.  Great for travel.

That's a nice case man. Which peli did you go for?
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

How easily were you able to form the foam around your keyboard?

I'm thinking about picking up a 1550 and cramming like 4 60% boards inside

Very nice case, though probably overkill.  I actually keep most of the original packaging from electronics and hardware.  It increases resale value, and it also works great when you need to move.

On my PC I have probably a 3lb heatsink and a super large case tower.  I have all the original boxes, bags, styrofoam, etc and can stick it back in these when I move.  Better than trusting the movers.
KPB V60 Gateron Browns and Leopold Keycaps.  Poker 3 with Gateron Browns and Poker keycaps.  Poker 3 with Cherry MX Browns, ABS keycaps and white LED's.

Leopold FC660M- my new favorite, right out of the box.
