Nice keyboard :D

Thanks for building it for me, marg! Works perfectly.

DSA hyperfuse and 40%, perfect love story.

Yeah. I saw riot's and had to take inspiration from it and go from there.

I hope your granite buy wraps up sooner than later so I can say the same about yours.  :-*
Thank you bro :-*
I love this thing.  It's cute as hell and much more solid than I would've guessed.  When I get some time this weekend I'm going to figure out my fn layers.  Thanks Bunny and Margo. :-*

Really like the idea of the JD40, too bad it's missing 3 more keys for åäö. I know you can probably solve it with a fn-key combo or something. :(

Very GH Nostalgia theme too :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

This might sound odd but is there a reason that this "minimal" board has two ctrl and two alt buttons? I just figured that's more room for extra function/etc.

If you take switches and keycaps out of the equation what does it cost to build a 40%?

Thanks!

The standoffs seem a little tall - can they be replaced with shorter ones for lower profile?  (maybe a 50% reduction in height?)

Unfortunately, no. They are required to be that tall in order to provide clearance for the Teensy, which is mounted to the bottom of the PCB below the spacebar. Perhaps one day we will have an alu case for the JD40, which will give the keyboard an angle, and it won't look quite so tall.

ISO Enter? No, it's too small to support such a large key. The layout is fixed. What you see in everyone's photos is what you get. :)

My current DD.  Finally starting to get used to the layout.  Now it feels funny going back to 60%.  Still a little trouble with the period key on normal use (my right ring finger doesn't like that bend), but short of that, I really like it.  On top of that, the 62g blues that dustinhxc put in this thing are awesome!

Okay, now where did you get that bottom case/wrist rest? I need one!
Made it.  I think that can happen  :thumb:

My Dad's garage is a full woodshop (except for lathe).  I will be heading back out there in a couple weeks and will put one together for you.

Looks great :D

That would be awesome on a 60% since my hands are kinda big, I have to move my wrist rest back really far when I am gaming.
