Vaporwave without the moonrunes ResidentSleeper, but that aside looks goodI did say I'm open to the idea if the people want it!
Cool theme!Well "better" is kind of subjective. I love ABS, plus I've worked with GMK before so I have an idea of what to expect from this process.
I love what GMK keysets allow to do, but I don't see why this would not be better and cheaper to produce in PBT.
That is one expensive base kit.Prices change, but this is the same kit as Taro with a stepped Ctrl, which sold for $155.
Cool theme!

But it’s 2019 and I still haven’t gotten GMk Jazz Solo cup. Give me the OG, not the trendy homage to things pastYa know, I guess I should get back to working on that 🤔
Yep, I am definitely in. I really like this brighter, kitschier shade of vaporwave. That's a pretty loaded base kit though. Any thoughts on splitting some kits to bring price down?My big concern with splitting off kits is that it's just one more thing that needs to hit MOQ, so it'll depend on interest levels.
Edit: A bunch of people just asked about the kits and the price, so nevermind. $155 would be a great price and I am in regardless.

Loving the colors ! and always love having sublegends : ) (not sure if you considered hangul sublegends or not !)Hangul is neat, but I feel like Japanese would be more keeping with the theme, ya know?
I love this. hiragana subs would def fit the theme but i think i like how clean it is now. maybe some renders with them would help people decide if theyd like them
+1 on doing JP alphas as add-on rather than base kit
+1 on doing JP alphas as add-on rather than base kit
True.
PS: Obviously unrelated to the quoted post, Bunnylake is not the only person that's allowed to run sets with mint-ish colours and/or shades of purple, he'll be the first one to say that. Hyperfuse Remix is not just DCS Midnight Twilight Mods with light grey alphas and purple legends instead of dark grey and teal legends. I think it's pretty moot to perpetuate the comparison between Remix and this.
I'm on mobile so I'm not sure how well the quality of this image will be but the set also reminds me a lil of these...Show Image(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190407/0ba6ef07ddbdddb4be232a6d3d82d084.jpg)

Grab HFO plus HFR, mix the alphas from HFO with the mods of HFR and sell the leftover set on MechMarket, you can have the set for about $180 (if not less)

Any chance for mono JP legends (a la Kobe alphas from GMK Laser)?
Would love it with any JP legends honestly, just throwing my opinion in.
I'd buy this keyset, but only if you offer Japanese sublegends on Dvorak alphas :thumb:

This image shows my point.. Look at how much white there is. It is more of an accent color. I think the set should be reversed. Make the white an accent, not the main color.

That's fair, but I think there's a point where one has to make some concessions to work better as a keyset, which I think the beige alphas accomplish.

Well maybe not full magenta, but the pink on the Macintosh Plus album is its most striking color and its noticeably more of a red - pink than the pink featured in the renders.Needs more magenta, not that weak pale pink stuffMagenta is more Outrun than Vaporwave.

Sweet set! I'm a huuuuuge vaporwave fan so I hope top pick this up one day. I hope you could throw a 2u shift in there for weirdos like me, but if not...I guess I'll have to put it on another board :'(
This might be the most pedantic nitpick of all time (so feel free to ignore it) , but shouldn't the name of the kit be digital dreams? Vaporwave encompasses (I'm not sure if that's the right word...) a nostalgia for the past, when we were promised the utopia of a digital age (which turned out to be false), so that promise is but a dream.

I've received some pricing info, but I realized there's a few tweaks to the kits that need to be made.
I'm currently leaning hard towards doing numpad/ISO as a combined separate kit so as to lower the base price a little bit.
But things are still in the works, rest assured! ;D
Separate the numpad from base if you must, but I wouldn't subsidize ISO by lumping it in with the numpad kit.
Nevermind, got basic ISO and Norde mixed up. Just a few caps shouldn't be a problem.Separate the numpad from base if you must, but I wouldn't subsidize ISO by lumping it in with the numpad kit.
Worked for Minimal and a couple other sets that have tried it.

Hi folks, still working on getting pricing for all the kits, but in the meantime I wanted to show you guys the novelty designs for the set done by the always wonderful outragedpudding.
I'm still working on figuring out how the kit itself will look (which colors to use, etc) but I wanted to at least show the designs since I'm so happy with how they turned out.
The Japanese text is a translation of "Analog Dreams" and is going to be an enter key, if you couldn't guess. Extra thanks to tokyocoffeenerd for the translation!

OP updated with kits and pricing!
Let me know what you think.
Would like to see UK-ISO in the Numpad/ISO kit. It’s only a couple of caps and would make a big difference for UK buyers.
Hoping the fact there’s a separate kit makes it viable!
Love how this is more vaporwave then GMK Vaporwave! And a suggestion: How about putting ISO with a international kit?

Like the 3 numrow caps? That could be possible, but I'd have to see how pricing changes.

Exactly, I think that would take this set from “gorgeous but wrong legends” to “perfect”. I know at least a few UK folks who are planning to pick up this set, so those caps would definitely get used.
I think for a while we had UK-ISO in base in GMK sets, and although it’s good to keep costs down it’d be great to still have access to those caps!
Hey folks, working on getting a new quote for those few additions to the ISO/Numpad kit.
Also, fingers crossed that our latest revision to the bust design will be accepted by GMK!
Any possibility of a seperate F row kit (F1-F4, F9-F12)? I will prefer to buy JP kit + Numpad and if F row is offered it will complete my set as I would use it with mods from other sets, not too fond of this mod colour (sorry personal taste).

These colours look great, can I request a picture taken under the light of the moon at it's zenith?
Thanks
Edit: OH, and also also, you should probably replace the #~ in the ISO/numpad kit with R3 \|.
…
Frankly if I did an international kit I don't think any ISO users would end up with the set. GMK Pulse is currently sitting at 13 int kits sold, and I think a set on Drop would have way better chances of hitting MOQ than this set.
- Move R1 End, R1 PgDn to numpad kit
- Add R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn to base
- ???
- Profit
Oh, and also, I think the base can do w/o that stepped R3 Control, R3 Hack and R4 Menu (Fn is used in its stead).
my 2¢

Came here to say this. As the ISO keys stand now (short left Shift, ISO Enter, R4 \| and R3 #~), you're providing neither full US ISO support nor full UK ISO support. The easiest adjustment is the one constexpr said, which completes the US ISO support; the UK-specific keys can be either added there (all of them, not just R3 #~) or in a NORDEUK kit, if that should be added.
……
Thanks for the feedback, I kinda forgot, I've been waiting on pricing on this kit:Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/6HVg5AM.png)

The ISO keys in this kit render provide full support to UK ISO, so that IS all well and good. Adding a single extra key (1.0U R3 \|) would also provide full US ISO support, and that would be quite nice to have.

R1 End, R1 PgDn are useless on their own without a numpad. R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn are a popular option for the right column on 65%/75% boards. It's a win–win.
Check some other recent GMK sets and ICs, see how they're doing it; it's generally pretty similar to what I suggested. Also, removing those keys (Stepped ctrl, hack, and menu) will do very little to help the pricing.
It's totally your call, but the fact is that R4 Menu is pretty unnecessary if R4 Fn is present. R3 Hack is only used on a few keyboards (Uniqey C70 is the only one that comes to mind) and some very uncommon 65% right column setups, so I don't think it's worth including either. You might like Caps Lock on your bottom row, and it's your set, so I'll give you that, but there's no reason imo to keep the other two.
They might not make a big difference on their own, but if you remove 3 or 4 unnecessary keys here and there, you might be able to, say, afford to add basic 4-key ISO support to the base kit — and that could mean quite a lot
I'm looking at three (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/3099/8088/products/0-1_1024x1024@2x.png?v=1564836332) different (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/3099/8088/products/GMK_Vaporwave_Base_Kit_1024x1024@2x.jpg?v=1562171427) sets (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/3099/8088/products/SKORahi_1024x1024@2x.png?v=1559755568) that handled the 65% column in the same fashion my dude.
I realized the confusion with the 1.25u fn key, that's R3, not R4.
I agree with you! One thing I would say is that R3 key is useful for people like me who want a ISO Mac layout as my picture should show. I personally don’t mind if a set doesn’t have that extra key as long as it has UK-ISO.The ISO keys in this kit render provide full support to UK ISO, so that IS all well and good. Adding a single extra key (1.0U R3 \|) would also provide full US ISO support, and that would be quite nice to have.
Gotcha, I'll see what I can do.
Don't bother. US ISO doesn't actually exist; it's only a crutch we use to refer to basic ISO support (the bare minimum 4 keys needed for physical compatibility) for sets that don't want to provide an actual, full ISO kit (like ISO-UK).
Since you currently have your numpad+ISO kit set up such that it provides proper ISO-UK compatibility, there's no need to add another \| key.
I'm sure US users won't be flocking to use ISO. And the very few that do, I'm sure they'll be fine with #~.
By the way, I got distracted by all of this and forgot to mention the most important bit: Definitely in for a set! Love the colors. I also think I got a coworker interested. Looks like this might become his first GMK set :D

Any updates on the kits: R4 1.25u Fn, R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn, 1800 support moved to numpad? I feel these are a must for me to be able to stand behind the set fully.
So,will the Japanese kit and the novelties kit be enough to fill out a tofu HHKB? I'm kinda new so I'm not sure how it works.
Well, i guess it can't be helped. Looks like I might be spending 50 more dollars...So,will the Japanese kit and the novelties kit be enough to fill out a tofu HHKB? I'm kinda new so I'm not sure how it works.
No, the JP kit as well as the novelties are pretty much just intended to accent the base kit.
Base will cover an HHKB tofu no problem.
JP and novelties are pretty much intended as what I would say are aesthetic changes, i.e. to modify the look of the set for those who would desire it, but to me, they're pretty specific looks, so I wouldn't want them in the base kit. Thus, they get their own separate kits.
I do have a suggestion that would make that key a bit more versatile, though: How about replacing the 1.5u Caps Lock with two 1.5u Super keys? That way you'd kill two birds with one stone: you'd cover Tsangan/HHKB for Mac users (where the Alt and Command/Super are swapped) and you'd have a key with a generic legend for your bottom row Caps Lock needs!
Howdy folks, less than a month away, and I'm happy to show we've got a first round of samples!Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/Cs6mBi6.jpg)Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/HMMuiS4.jpg)Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/qauE4N2.jpg)Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/kwhyXia.jpg)Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/RZo8mtW.jpg)Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/DgoDvhh.jpg)
Now I didn't go for a spectrum of lighting to show how they react in different situations like I did with the pantone chips, I just wanted to show how they compare to the pantones themselves. The only thing I've got a complaint about is the magenta, that one we're actually waiting on a re-sample.
All the others I'm super pleased with!
Look for more updates as the GB draws near ;D
Almost time...
Keep tuned for the finishing touches.
