Hi Bunnylake!

r3 ctrl and r2 dropped backspace would be awesome. If this set will not include them, will you give an option to buy them separately on the next buy. So we can buy the full set now, and just the "Control" and backspace later?

Would it be an idea to have a hhkb-kit for that set, with fn-arrows added?

Will there sometime in the future be possible to have "purple on white" language packs?

Thank you for doing all that you do!

ok guys

im really sorry for the dusty pics, this is my daily driver board and ive been testing these keys out everyday for a bit over a month in various layouts and combos

please note the cmyw set is made by gmk, i left it in because i think its good for people to see the comparison, and that you can mix and match these sets

oh i forgot to mention these were part of the prototype runs, and improvements have been made since, and i have more samples on the way to me shortly

Maybe I'm looking at this wrong, but is the spacebar higher profile than the GMK keys?

If the next rounds could be Dolch with a mod pack CMYW or electric blue (that kind of color), that be really sick! :D

im pretty sure we have run dolch in to the ground by this point

I still haven't managed to get hold of a Dolch or Dolch-like set (pending Harry posting my Tai Hao order, that is).
Do you mind telling the quality of the set once you receive it? :)

Probably standard Tai Hao, I don't see any reason to suspect otherwise.

I have never tried any so I don't know what to expect but I heard it is not top quality. :)

Baggies? Like regular plastic bags or is this some kind of special switch condom I've not yet hear of  :))

Ordered. These look incredible! No longer do I have to wait for GMK purple mods. These look just as good at a fraction of the price. I was tempted to get the white mods and I will probably regret not getting them, but my keyboard budget is already busted for the next two months with this set and the GMK blue mods billnye is running.

ok guys

quick update

we paid for the models of the dropped backspace and r3 control today

we dont know if they will be ready quite in time for production for this set

we have 3 options here

1. if they are ready in time, they will be included with these sets at no additional cost
2. if they arent ready on time we can proceed without them as planned
3. if they arent ready in time, we can wait until they are ready, this would add no longer than 2-4 weeks to final production, and again they would be included at no extra charge

i guess option 1 is largely obsolete, as it changes nothing, but if i could get a show of hands between options 2 and 3 that would be great

second update

we are making a bunch of blank top row windowed keys in various colours that match these buys

if there is any interest for something like this i can add it to the buy

Just a quick question about the Topre/MX sliders: do they come with stabilizers?

Username checks out ;)

About the sliders, are there stabilizers included?

no

but topre boards only have stabs on the space bar

But these caps have stems where "stabilized" topre caps do not, correct?  (I don't have a topre board in front of me right now)  How would we handle this?  This might be a bit naive, as it may be similar to what people have done with the Novatouch sliders, but I'd like to know what the recommended method here is.   :thumb:

so the stems on the side of the mod caps that would normally have stabs on an mx board dont have any clearance issues on a topre board

lol, yup I was so overwrought with concern that I would be without stabilization that I ended up posting a stupid question ;D.
Need to make sure or else the username will be a lie!

Anyway thanks, I did read back a bit and found that (asked within the first couple of pages of the thread), and now I am really stoked to be sticking some doubleshots on my RF ;)

About the sliders, are there stabilizers included?

no

but topre boards only have stabs on the space bar

later down the roaqd we are looking in to making a 6 u spacebar with an mx stem but tope stab mounting points

as for selling the sliders separately, that was originally part of the plan for this buy, however, they are really only being made so people can enjoy these sets on topre boards as well as mx, so we wanted to give people in on this buy first shot at them, but a while down the road they will be available on their own
I'd be extra excited about this.

Any chance for a "regular" type 6u mx spacebar that would be compatible with something like the infinity keyboard?

I know gateron is making 6u mx compatible spacebars but I don't think they are compatible with the infinity board.

Congratulations on making an excellent choice for a first group buy! :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The K70 has a non-standard bottom row so while most of the caps will fit you won't get full coverage.

I don't think there is any set out there that will completely fit the K70 other than the caps it comes with.

JD has a good write up about how to pick out a keyboard here -> http://blog.ctrlalt.io/articles/how-to-choose-the-right-keyboard-for-you
