I wonder if JTK will be producing a Dolch set.

There's a drop on Massdrop happening now, but the numpad has sold out, and the price is a little higher than Ivan's GB.

I'd prefer to support JTK if they are going to produce a Dolch set :D

I believe Bunny already said he has like 3 new designs in mind for the next JT GBs, so I guess re-runs of classic color schemes are not planned for the near future.

Having said that JT Toxic needs to happen!!  :p

You might be right.

Judging by the comments on MD and in the great finds thread has some support, but doesn't seem overwhelmingly positive.  Seems like Dolch has been done to death lately (almost everything except SA Dolch - and we have Hack'd by Geeks which is pretty close anyway).

Wait, I sense a new IC incoming: SA Dolch!!!

That actually sounds pretty awesome. But only once SP finally makes those blasted Row 4 Shift molds.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

I was wondering, and hopefully this isn't too annoying of a question or anything, but do you know when to expect these to show up in the store? I've been hounding this thread for a while since I desperately want some sick MX Topre stems, but I haven't really seen anything about an ETA. The buy's been looking great so far, though!

i have been told sorting will finish sometime around this weekend

so they will ship to me shortly after that

so once we receive them ,we can put them in the store

so most likely a couple weeks

Also will we still be okay to add those extra Topre to MX sliders before you ship set out still? :X

yeah, it would take me just as long to package up all the US orders and send them to him as it will to just send them myself, only this way everyones order will go out at the same time, and i can get it knocked out and not worry about it before my baby is born

Fantastic news, and great work by JTK!

Thanks BunnyLake :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

i would like to state that although this gb has taken a bit longer than we thought, that time was spent relentlessly improving this set and adding stuff to make it better

however that work has been done now, and that additional time will not be a factor in the future

When JTK was introduced, you hinted that this new manufacturer might allow to add caps that weren't a possibility with the GMK MoQ, is this something that is still considered ?

I'm obviously thinking about international layouts.

I didn't get in on this buy because, for my sins, I only have ISO boards so I'm really hoping that you can get at least an ISO enter mould made. Of course, support for the international layouts (esp. UK) would be fantastic.

things are being added all the time

for instance the next gbs will also include full 1800 support, ISO is something i will also be pushing for, but as ive said, everything has to start somewhere, and to start with we have to focus on things that have the highest demand, and work from there

The Esc seems a bit too large, the number row also varies from the GMK's, I think such consistent variations (like design choices) are ok., but in this case, it seems a bit chaotic, it might just be the picture tho
(I guess the 3# is the only one that is a bit odd)

I have my eye on that 1.75 Control tho, it looks great

I think the set looks quite nice overall, however I would not be satisfied with it (but I am a bit of a perfectionist)

Warning: do not expand the following text if you like how the set looks and are happy with it.

You can't unsee some of this stuff onced it's been pointed out to you. The following text is primarily for pointing out things that could possibly be improved in the next run, assuming the set shown is representative of what everyone will receive. This is a very good first effort from JTK.

More
The line thickness variations are fairly obvious and would bug me... Look at "Q" vs "Z" for example, or "N" vs "M", numpad "7", etc.

Looks like they could possibly be caused by remelting or poor legend seating during the second shot, but it's quite inconsistent.

Also that 3... the "#" is too far to the right, the line thickness on the curly braces is too wide and the tilde is... rather an odd shape. The letter spacing and sizing on "Pause" and "Delete" vs "PrtSc", "PgUp", "PgDn" is also off.

They look nice, but they're not quite GMK quality.... yet ;)
Are Ooblys critiques going to be taken in account for the next run and maybe addressed? I read his stuff and it's not a huge deal for me, but I would just like it maybe fixed in later revisions of the molds.  :)

1800 support is great! (Since I have a 1800 (or 3) coming in the mail!)

also included in each order of their respective sets and no extra cost for everyone

Those stepped windows Caps Locks look excellent. Excited to see what the next JTK buy has in store, will need to get in on some of these.

the new busy will launch as soon as these ones ship

which as i say, ill get them all turned around in one day

i would like to state that although this gb has taken a bit longer than we thought, that time was spent relentlessly improving this set and adding stuff to make it better

however that work has been done now, and that additional time will not be a factor in the future

When JTK was introduced, you hinted that this new manufacturer might allow to add caps that weren't a possibility with the GMK MoQ, is this something that is still considered ?

I'm obviously thinking about international layouts.

things are being added all the time

for instance the next gbs will also include full 1800 support, ISO is something i will also be pushing for, but as ive said, everything has to start somewhere, and to start with we have to focus on things that have the highest demand, and work from there

Ok good to know, alternatives legends on the modifiers (AltGr, Icon only, ...) could already be a big step, I'm very well aware that international layouts is a terrible customer/work/money rate.

perhaps people should wait and see the final caps before making critiques

but yeah, we have address from the start there will be small errors here and there, this is a totally new project and its being improved constantly

I didn't mean that as a slight or anything. They are all pretty minor. I of course want to wait before I make any assumptions of the set.  :)

Thank you guys for the large amount of work you guys have put in to make this set as good as it is. Considering it's as new as it is.  :-*

yeah i didnt mean for it to come out that way

i just feel people are very overly critical about everything right now, and perhaps we shouldnt be critical of things before we have even seen them in person

to be clear

there are some very slight errors here and there that will be fixed and improved upon for future buys

making something like this from scratch is a huge task, and whenever you change something in the moulds, it has a knock on ripple effect where itll change something else, and its about finding a balance

so there will be some fair critiques to be made, but reserve judgement until you see what has been accomplished at this price point

+1

I didn't get in on this buy because, for my sins, I only have ISO boards so I'm really hoping that you can get at least an ISO enter mould made. Of course, support for the international layouts (esp. UK) would be fantastic.

tbf Bunny has always pushed for UK layouts in GB's where its been possible.

Apologies if I came across as unfair to Bunny or critical, it wasn't meant that way.

When will they go up for sale on the store?  I messed around and forgot to order  :(

very soon, i have also just cancelled someones gb order so i have a few more extras as well now

Do I have to wait for extras to become available in the store or is it possible to jump on a cancelled order now? I'd like to pick up a white on black set.

I'll possibly be selling my white on black set after they come in. If you haven't found one. I'll hit you up.
