My WoB set arrived earlier in the week, but I only had a chance to open them today.

And I've ended up wasting half the day on something else and haven't gotten the pictures off my camera yet.

First thought: Wow!

Second thought: Wow!

The only observation I've made is that the stems under the Enter key are a little short for the Costar stabiliser inserts I have - they do not push in all the way.

With a small square of plastic, they stay in well enough, and the key seems to work.

Just an observation.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Here's a couple of pictures of the Costar stabiliser inserts.

First is Enter, second is right Shift.  AFAIK they are standard CM QFR/QFS stabiliser inserts.

114806-1

As I mentioned, not a problem.  The Shift stays in very well without needing any additional help.  And a small square of plastic around each Enter stabiliser holds them well too.

That looks great with the CMYW!

I'll have to dig my CMYW out, I might actually have some use for it now :)

Hope to hear news of the other secret colourway soon!

Only minor issue I've had since using these is the right shift has popped free a couple of times.

Doesn't feel unusually loose, and the stem looks as it should. Might be a novatouch stab issue, my habit of hitting the extreme left edge or I've a stronger pinkie than I realised.

Hopefully those coveted ISO shapes will eventually appear in time, even just blanks would be nice.

You could try a small square (about 1cm square) of, say, a plastic bag over the stem before you put the keycap on.

I remember Bunny saying that a purple topre spacebar was being included with this set.

Is a black one going to be included, too?

The MX spacebars included in the set are 6.25u and 7u long so they wouldn't fit a Topre board

Bunny has already addressed this by graciously including 6u Topre spacebars in any order that included sliders

Yea. I know it's coming with the sliders.

I just want to know if it's just the purple colored spacebar or is it a black and purple. (2 spacebars)

Will we still get to pick our slider colors? I totally understand if it isn't feasible.

Yeah basically what has happened is, when we made the stabilised large slider, we didn't take in to account the extra stabilising mounting points on keys such as backspace, so all the sliders are done and ready but we are still fidgeting with that 1 slider to make it so users don't have to destroy the underside of key caps to solve clearance issues on a real force, they are nearly done but me and jtk have made the decision to send the sets now and then the sliders

To apologise for his delay, every set of sliders will now come with 3 different cherry profile topre spacebars, one in white, one in purple and one in black and me and jtk are going to split the additional shipping cost between us so there will be no additional cost to the end user

I want to get the sets out so that we can discover any packing issues and damage and be able to get those keys out to people asap so we can wrap this up

I'm typing this on a phone, the reason I didn't include it in he message above is I wanted to do it at my desk where I have some pics and all the info, but that is the gist of it

How much a single set of sliders is going to be? Judging by the group buy prices it's ~$20-30, but I'm definitely willing to pay more if needed :)

Damn, buying this set + sliders just keeps getting better! Please don't feel like you need to rush it out for us though, we understand you've got a lot on your plate. Do whatever is best for you at this (very important!!) time. Thanks as always though :)

Cool cool. Sorry to hear you'll have to eat up some shipping costs though.

Really appreciate the update and the hard work to get this set as well made as possible :)
