My Friend Jens 3D Printed a Few Designs
« on: Wed, 11 March 2015, 02:27:31 »
Jens is a pretty talented artist and he happens to own a formlabs Form 1+ 3D printer. I nabbed an open source skull keycap STL here: https://github.com/kekstee/3dprint. I was pretty pleased with the first printing attempt so much that it is now my ESC key (album: http://imgur.com/a/jJqKw).

Jens took a few weeks and decided to make some caps of his own design. Album: http://imgur.com/a/DEtdZ

I really love the details... man i wish i had a 3d printer  ^-^

They seem a bit fragile for an everyday use that can ruin them though.

I mean if you're printing with ABS, the caps should be durable PauloF.

Did you do any acetone smoothing SirChurch or Jens? The finishes on the caps look pretty good :).

The printer used is an SLA printer.

I'm not a huge fan of the designs, but they did print well.

You can always cast them. They would be durable enough then.
