Sculpted spherical blanks
« on: Mon, 13 August 2018, 06:50:37 »
From reading around on this forum and Deskthority wiki, Signature Plastics and Maxkey are the companies that can make double-shot SA keycaps, and getting a set from SP in particular involves a lot of waiting and money. I've found little information about blank keycaps however. Is the situation any different when the more complicated double-shot process isn't needed? Are they cheaper, or even in stock? Do other companies produce them?

The blanks that SP sells are mostly "leftovers" from production runs of full sets, which is why their color selection is so limited. I'm not aware of any way to get blanks on demand from Maxkeys.

How do they get blank leftovers from production of double-shot sets though?

Are there other companies that make such keycaps using ordinary (not double-shot) process?

A lot of SA sets have child kits of blanks. Ergodox kits also tend to have lots of blanks.
