As simple as it sounds! Trading/collectable cards similar to basketball cards, but featuring Keycaps, Keyboards, Switches and Content Creators. I have a love for collecting Cards and wanted to crossover that hobby with my infatuation of keyboards. The cards would be packaged just like any sports/ Pokémon cards. The best part is opening the packs and finding out what you get!

There are multiple designers of GMK sets, Boards, Switches & Youtubers/Twitch Streamers onboard who want to participate in this project. At the moment I am just gathering permission from more individuals to use their IP/Designs for the cards.
In talks with a manufacturer to get an idea of costs and time frame for this project. If we can get this into production all profits from this project are to be donated to World Wide Fund for Nature!

Oh idk maybe it's just
- people botting groupbuy spots with no intent of keeping the board for themselves just for reselling it later
- thus people that actually want a board to use it can't get it in the groupbuy
- artificially inflated prices for keyboards and keycaps due to flippers asking completely nuts prices
- new people actually joining this hobby just to make money off of it with absolutely no interest in the community itself
I could probably list a few more things but you get the idea (hopefully...)

1) It encourages people who do not appreciate this community to join for profit alone, this leads to instances where FCFS are botted, raffles have thousands of duplicate accounts making most nice boards inaccessible to the average member
2) Increased resale prices leads to more and more people who come in to this hobby incentivized by profit leading to more botted FCFSs and raffles
3) Encourages lazy cash grab GBs due to almost everything being able to hit MOQ and usually being able to resale for higher
4) Encourages keycap clones due to people not being able to join in buys due to bots or afford after market pricing on most boards and caps due to flipping
Sure unlimited GBs can prevent flippers but for the average one person vendor unlimited GBs are unfeasible.

Already had some designers sign a form that protects their designs/IP from me profiting off of it. I could probably list a few more things but you get the idea (hopefully...)
1.- Only applicable to limited run GBs
2.- Same as 1
3.- Free market, if there is somebody willing to pay, you can be darn sure there will be somebody that will offer it, at such price points.
4.- The entry point is really steep, and you will not see profit until several months later, sometimes even years later (GMK Dracula), not so many people will get into it if all things are considered. You can see Alpha Investments to have a fuller picture of what it means to get into such niche markets.

Okay, while I agree that this is a two-way street, every flipper needs a buyer willing to actually validate that transaction, it is still heavily based on the flipper to set that price in the first place.
And I'm all for trying to get as much money out of it as possible, opportunity or whatever, but man, this isn't the hobby that I came to love. Sure, call me stupid for not making as much money as I could have.
But I'd rather make someone's day/week/month by passing on something to them at cost.
But I guess that's just the difference between some people: out for themselves and the money vs. genuinely passing on the joy of the hobby.
In short, **** off.

Since you mention donating profits to WWF, will this project be made using eco-friendly cardstock?The manufacturer had multiple options for packaging including foil wraps and paper wraps. I would prefer to opt for paper wraps since its recyclable/biodegradable. I did not get into conversations about card stock yet, but unfortunately I do not think they have a recycled paper card stock option for the.
I'm curious about the materials used, and also whether they're resistant to all the heat this post is getting.

I'm fine if designers add some sort of card in the package of their product and make them some sort of uniformly layout/design. But making actually packs and sell them without any connection to the actual product is kinda sus.the designers of the items would be tagged and mentioned on the card, the cards would have a direct connection to the sets/boards!

See for instance what people "post-modern" plastic arts. Since they have gone sky high in value, all people have seen as dollar signs. Today "post-modern" means just effortless, creatively bankrupt pieces of garbage that will get rated millions of dollars just because.
A hobby is not made of profit. People using keyboards as investments and buying bulks of keysets/keyboards to sell them at higher prices later are enabling bad designers and crap projects to come to fuition due to the bloated market this becomes. This in turn makes the community lose the notion of objectivity, beggining to rank boards and keysets by their price and not by what they bring to the table (a new cool feature, new cool design characteristic, a nicely done mounting style, the list goes on.)
This does not make the hobby interesting or fun. This makes the hobby pale and uninteresting. So you guys using that argument might think you are outsmarting everyone here like you are some kind of Milton Friedman-level experts. No you are not. You are just lazy and dumb projects of flippers trying to get easy money on the detriment of a growing community, and unfortunately there have been a whole lot of you here lately. This community is already known as a getekeepy, steep entry and we don't need anymore of you pricks to strenghten that notion.
So yes, get the crap out of here. This hobby is made of people interested in innovating and being part of a knowledge and experience sharing culture. This was never about keyboards; it was always about being around interesting people and having fun. Keyboards are just a catalyst for bringing people together. I bet you won't understand that, because free market does not apply to happiness. That is Milton Friedman's quote, by the way.
All in all, you just don't understand what this community is about and you probably never will because all you see are big CHA CHING dollar signs. You are not wrong. You are just dumb.
