I don't think that's how it works.

So... A regular brass plate with a pc spacer? I dont think that's going to feel very different from typing on brass. It'll actually be stiffer.

Also, the PC part being only 3mm is going to leave a ~.5mm gap between it and the pcb, so it'll probably rattle and create more noise unless its adhered to the brass plate.... But again, you're just making a stiffer plate. Resonance is still going to be an issue because its not like the PC is going to dampen vibrations.

Cool idea, but it's so thick and with it essentially just being a brass plate anyways it'll just be stiffer. I'll keep in the loop tho because this is interesting and I wanna see where it goes.

how will you ensure that the two parts are completely secure? there is very little information in this post. you mention that you want to combine sound profiles but there is no theory, proof of concept/testing, prototype or sound test (even if it isn't accurate). this is just an idea, there is a lot more work to be done.

pls no swillkb. and if you're going to use plate mount stabs, you need to leave room for the stabilizer.

yeah I agree...I think that this will barely do anything and there is no testing to prove the concept. It may just be 2 things slapped together poorly. And you have been a gh member for like 3 days and this is your one and only post so far.

Cool idea. I always love innovation but I'm not sure what the point is. When I first saw the post, I assumed it was like a brass half plate on top with a PC full plate on top. Anyway, again, kudos for innovation! :thumb:

I laughed way too hard at that...

As others have said, I do not think this is going to work as you are hoping.

Having said all that, I would be interested in a 3 to 5 mm. think PC plate if you tweaked the layout (stepped caps + split right shift).
