Matching cables available with purchased keyset? I mean blue, grey, and white aren't too tough to match but.. ya know. Sometimes people just like decisions to be made for them.

Very nice idea, I'd go for this! As mentioned, it wouldn't be too tough to match, but I bet jchan can come up with a sick theme to pair with this set...

What sizes are the novelties? Wondering if I could outfit an erogodx with a base + 2 novelty sets.

I wonder what the signup curves are like on GB's. If I had all the data on all GB's, I could find the exact perfect amount of time for them to last... Well, not me - someone smart could...

I feel like a dataset on all GBs would be very inconsistent, as it is difficult to factor in

B. holiday seasons
C. group buys who are extended to international parties towards the very end
D. group buy timings (when the RIGHT time for a group buy is, as some people argue there is "no right time" for a group buy, due to various reasons)

Meh, those are problems that statisticians know how to weight against.

It is an example of the classic problem of a survival curve that is commonly use to predict time to failure in reliability; but, in this case is time to reach a certain MoQ. A Weibull CDF is the usual probability model to create a predictive model. All special events account for the final shape of the curve.

7u is too long. Way unnecessary.
The only good thing it does is even out the bottom row by changing the size of the other caps (and eliminating one), but otherwise any bar longer than 6u is overkill--in my eyes, at least.

Nah, that's a fair argument, I just personally can't get used to having keys that I never use (windows & menu), so I wanted to create a board with keys that will always be used. no F-row, no win/menu, and I even reprogrammed the rightside bottom modifiers to arrow keys :v

7u means the spacebar is not centred correctly to the alphas area (and by extension, to the default hand position), so that really bugs me.

It is seven units, just momentarily, the actual six units one is here already, waiting for its time to join the set, soon:

I don't; still, I have exactly what I want, only (Shameless double post):

7u spacebar?  :p

7u master race

7u means the spacebar is not centred correctly to the alphas area (and by extension, to the default hand position), so that really bugs me.

It is seven units, just momentarily, the actual six units one is here already, waiting for its time to join the set, soon:

Where can you actually get a 6u spacebar in classic Cherry beige? Also where did you get there 1u Winkeys with the Windows 7 logo? Are they Row 5?

6.25u isn't centered correctly either in that case...

This six unit space bar is a Gateron made one in Cherry profile in PBT, that Sir Infiniti graciously donated me - Thank you again Infiniti - and it can be sourced from IMSTO's store, he has six, six and a quater and seven units available, I got from him the seven unit versions in black and beige a year ago, then he had no six units yet, the Windows logo keys are A Profile.

6.25u isn't centered correctly either in that case...

It's close enough to centre with respect to the homing keys. It's 1u from F to the outer left edge of the bar and 1.25u from J to the right edge

I see, thanks for the info. It looks like the 6unit bar has offset stem though, I had a look on imsto website.

Looks like you need to get some diamond 1u keys to go with your board. Maybe wodan can add them in the next round of HADapters!

That would rock, and you should be aware that original Cherry six unit space bars found in 18xx boards have the switch stem off centered as well, exactly as the new Gateron's. The one in the picture is a space bar I sold last year, it was an original Cherry's 1800 I supose that the upcoming ones, like the space bar included in GMK HYDRO will have also off centered stems.

I know, my Raptor K1 also has offset stem, just wondering if any sets ever included a 6u key with centred stem, I know they exist in OEM profile but I've never seen Cherry ones before.

I am not sure, but you may check the Signature Plastics stock and ask them if their six units space bars are centered, I think they are; but, why you want them centered? as far as I know available PCBs that get them require off centered stem for the switch.

Well call me Sally. I NEED Hyperfuse in my life, secretly hoping it's DSA rather than GMK though as I've got like 3 GMKs on order already, I'll buy it regardless anyway. Mito's Godspeed is launching in a couple weeks too on Massdrop, and then Evan's DSA Lightcycle fullsized some time in Octorber... Sherry's JD40 assembled kits are supposedly up soon as well.

Not like this mayne. NOT LIKE DIS.

PS: Curious how Hyperfuse will be priced given you said $150 for this set is steep, I'm fairly new to buys like these and yea $150 is a ton of money, so was $130 for K&C, but I just figured GMKs prices are pretty damn high these days.

I'm not turning this into a HF discussion, but apparently GMK sets are even cheaper to be made now, and a "full featured" set is about $90. This is mainly why I asked about pricing. K&C makes sense because Sherry/Originative run a business.

Yea I wasn't trying to derail the thread, on the contrary, maybe I worded it poorly. I was just wondering as it pertains to Hydro as well, if pricing discrepancies are all over the place it may get a bit iffy for folks to make up their mind - interesting that GMK sets are cheaper to be made now, goes to show I'm far from being "in the know", $90 is super reasonable for a full featured set (given pricings I've been seeing past couple months most the time).

Regarding K&C yea it is understandable yea, I feel it was perfectly warranted there.

Hopefully I'm not accidentally derailing anything, I really hope Hydro comes to be and that Hyperfuse/other sets coming out don't lead people to skip out, it'll just be interesting/educational to see what happens.

Jchan also runs a business so that explains some of the cost. I haven't heard that a full set starts at $90 now. Hydro pricing seems similar to kb&co and carbon at least at the lower price points.

It only happened today where someone (v experience) talked about GMK pricing, nothing to worry about, but it has got me wondering why prices have gone up if they're cheaper to make.

Overheads have to exist, but we've become used to very high prices.

I'm not going to comment on this further until jchan gives his insight, but I think it's something worth talking about. Please keep to facts, and don't speculate/guess as that only leads to negativity.

earn money is a main point, i think. Before is enthusiasm for GMK , now is enthusiasm for money. I really show my respect to Mr Jchan. At which price to launch a GB is a right belonging to jchan. I really like the novelty keycaps he have create in this , very good and cute.

You also have to consider the number of keys included relative to the pricing. It's a very wide set that covers a lot of alternatives. Also consider that the pricing is inclusive of trays.

If you like hyperfuse, that's great dude. Go get it, it's a good deal compared to what people on the mechmarket are selling it for at this moment. I bought a set today from Sherryton and it's awesome.  It will cost $175 at retail but consider the price relative to the keys, and also of course, immediate shipment of the set. Of course, consider the colors as well. Whichever floats your boat honestly.

I hope you join the buy regardless, and I hope this is as transparent as possible.  Whichever way you go, I hope you enjoy the set you end up with bro.

Edit:
$135 includes trays, banking fees, sorting fees, and shipping fees (more expensive with trays).

Each set costs about $135 to produce at the lowest drop point and pricing follows that as we hit moqs. You also have to consider the number of keys included relative to the pricing. It's a very wide set that covers a lot of alternatives. Also consider that the pricing is inclusive of trays.

Do you have any concerns or doubts towards hitting moq with the upcoming cap sets currently in the mix.
Hyperfuse being my main concern.

Should be fine. We're accustomed to seeing hyperfuse on end.game boards, and seeing more of it out there is great. I love it in fact, but different sets bring different personalities and I'm sure that'll reflect with GMK Hydro. I'm really excited for it and I'm confident in reaching moq. It's a different set, and while it might be compared to gmk hyperfuse, i think it'll do well and make a lot of people happy.

I love the colors of hyperfuse, but I've always loved blue and mute colors more. To me, hyperfuse is an endgame keyset, but having it is also a collectors mentality.

Hopefully regardless of hyperfuse, people will jump on hydro and get a splash of blue on their board.

Yea, I'm hoping both sets don't really implicate each others' success (or lack thereof) by also catering to generally the same crowd - I'm biased because purple/violet is my favourite colour, Hyperfuse is a must have, but I'm confident I can still get in on Hydro as well. I love the theme and novelties more than enough to make it worth it, even though blue is not a favourite of mine the colourway of Hydro is very cool and cohesive.

Throwing it out there, now that Originative have said "in store this week" for Hyperfuse, and it's most likely GMK... It doesn't sound good for Hydro.
I don't think it ever has looked good - Keyboard & Co barely made it, Originative (keyset) is still ongoing (I don't think they've reached half MOQ yet), Stormtrooper took weeks to meet MOQ.
Personally, $150 is very high, and I can't figure out why it's so high. Perhaps we can have more insight? What are your thoughts on the MOQs and other GMK buys, jchan?

Each set costs about $135 to produce at the lowest drop point and pricing follows that as we hit moqs. You also have to consider the number of keys included relative to the pricing. It's a very wide set that covers a lot of alternatives. Also consider that the pricing is inclusive of trays.

Dang jchan how did you get Hyperfuse so early, this smells to me like INSIDER TRADING  :p

I really want hydro to prevail :( This set is beautiful.. Hyperfuse drop could be very dangerous.. It should open up today instead :)

So what if Hyperfuse is dropping next week? Why not both?

Because not everyone can buy both.
