In on this for sure, CP1800 layout is where its at. Missed out on LZ-CP & this is sexy.  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Did you guys decide not to do the acrylic bottom?

Also, is this case produced by kin25?

no acrylic this time
acrylic bottom doesn't feel as premium as aluminum but the cost is almost the same

It's a shame you NO longer have the Brass Plate available because that would of been a perfect purchase.  Especially an all Gold coloured case with a Brass Plate.

Thanks anyway, Good luck with the GB : ).

yuktsi, I know you are a trust worthy guy but members of this forum are very worried about Kin25's production and execution of this GB. As he has proven to de-prioritize US buyers and/or disappear for 6 months at a time because of his job.

Please elaborate on the timeline and invoicing of this group buy. There are a lot of people that are worried about miscommunication and timeline of this. I dont mean to be rude but we would like to know how kin25 plans to handle this GB. We dont want to wait 6 months to a year for this to happen. Because it appears that TX1800 orders from last year are still to be fulfilled.

My package arrived today. Yay! I don't have space to build it since I am in the process of moving, but thanks to all involved. I thought I had selected the gold plate but when the invoice came through, I assumed I was just a bit too late as there were only a handful available. No biggie. I'm really happy with the purple case.

Edit: Added images as I couldn't resist. One RGB LED seems to be janky. If I hold it down, it will come on, so perhaps a quick pass with the soldering iron will fix it.

No diffuser on this one. This one is a bit more understated in that department; apart from being bright purple of course.

Just received mine in Germany delivered by DHL. I am completely struck by everything about this GB.

I can't thank Yuktsi enough for this performance, only GB I can remember that ever delivered that quickly was Round3 by LeandreN.

This is also my first Korean Kustom and I wasn't aware of prepared for the obsession that went into these boards. Just looking at the SS plates gave me tingles. Cleanest cutouts I have ever seen. Everything about this keyboard kit feels and looks a brand new expensive car unlike most other kits I've seen so far that looked more like a hobby kit.

Thanks so much for offering this!

Couldn't help it and built my TX-CP yesterday in a single go.
Here's the result, a combination of the two greatest GBs on GH I've been a part of so far:
Here's a link to the IMGUR build log:
http://imgur.com/a/jG7l3 (http://imgur.com/a/jG7l3)

I used vintage Cherry MX Black switches, replaced the springs with 45gr. aftermarket springs and mixed Skidata+ keycaps with some OG Skidata caps for some ISO-DE flavour.
Now that I have finished building this keyboard, I have to say it again: I was not prepared for the passion that went into these kits. The plate/PCB fit had a precision never before seen. The only plate that had nearly as precise cutouts at the ones I got with this kit were the OLKB plates. And their quality SUCKS, switches get stuck in there and actually require a little bit of post processing if you want to use them properly. These plates in contrast had ZERO issues at all and fit the PCB perfectly even over the greater width of a 1800 layout. The switches had such a firm fit in the plate, I cut all the PCB-mount nubs from the Cherry MX Blacks except for the stabilized keys which of course didn't sit tightly in the plate and thus could use the additional guidance by the PCB-mount nubs. I have built ~10 keyboards before and can safely say this one set the standard for me.

Typing on it is just a whole different league as well. I could have never imagined the type feel to be so much better. It almost feels like this keyboard is the center of the universe and I just orbit around it - that's how solid and stable it sits on my desk. Not even the IBM Model F keyboards give me the same sensation of typing on a block of granite.

I don't know how this translates to Korean but: You did it you little nut jobs, showed me that there is a 500$ keyboard worth every penny ... and more!

If you guys like the keyboard, I might take some better pics with better light and a better camera.

I don't know how this translates to Korean but: You did it you little nut jobs, showed me that there is a 500$ keyboard worth every penny ... and more!

If you guys like the keyboard, I might take some better pics with better light and a better camera.

 yes wodan plz more pictures!

Finally had some time to build this!! Gateron tactile clears, lubed and stickered with the transparent films which are awesome by the way. Couple notes: comically heavy and just as solid feeling as my tgr-jane, build quality and finish is perfect, lip looks fantastic in person, and I'm glad I went with the two-tone case. Also, you can retroactively install pcb mounted stabs by desoldering a switch or two and using some sleight of hand beneath the plate - who knew.

That album just convinced me... I need a TX board. I'm totally in for the next GB if I don't dislike the layout.
Edit: Does anyone know what kind of TX boards are out there? Does he have a blog like duck or do I have to navigate through the korean forums to find out more about his stuff?

That just grabbed my attention. Will the ergo be split or something like LZ's ergo board? Or, even more important: will they be available to us that are neither able to converse in Korean, nor have a Korean friend that would proxy one of them for us?

Very confusing error with my board. Default layout loads fine. But when I try to load a custom layout, the board will not respond. jigon connects and I can setup a layout, but after I update, the board will not respond. I can switch back to the default layout OK. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

I mean.. there may still be more available. I filled out the extras form, but didn't receive any contact.

I pmed kin and was notified that all colors were still available except for gray (not sure about now). Might want to try messaging him, though he may be backed up right now due to tx-75 sales and shipping.

I got the google forms confused between this and the other tx board. If possible, I would like to cancel my silver TX-CP order.

Just a product of kin making some additional boards available. People get them and realize they don't want them. Or just like making boards and buy impulsively (guilty though didn't get a TX-CP). Just FYI, kin said in the TX75 thread that in march (supposedly) there will be a round 2 of txcp and a v2 of tx1800. My TX-75 has been my favorite board, I'm really excited to pick up a board in my favorite layout (1800).

If your leeku 1800s PCBs have already been built to fit the G80-1800 case, you will have to rebuild it, since the tx1800 uses a top-mounted plate to case

Differences of tx1800 and v2

1) leeku1800 pcb presoldered electronic components
 (Diodes, resistors and so on)

2) because of acrylic deffuser, bottom is thinner.

3) only brass plate (ansi/iso/both)

4) NCS locks letter holes for leds.

5) 3T brass weight bar.

6) assembling service.

7) a little gift and free service. ??

The V1 also had a diffuser? Was it optional, hence the thicker bottom?

Time for some brass, I guess. There's no escape.

Differences of tx1800 and v2

2) because of acrylic deffuser, bottom is thinner.

3) only brass plate (ansi/iso/both)

7) a little gift and free service. ??

V1 does have a diffuser. 3mm. I have it on mine to add up a little flare. Soldering the RGB lights was not fun tho =[

4) NCS locks letter holes for leds.

5) 3T brass weight bar.

yess~ please offer the gold color once again!!  :-*

There was never a gold color with 1800. only with CP

Noted, then I humbly request that the gold color that was offered for TX-CP also be offered for TX1800v2

This would be super awesome as I have a gold TX-CP in addition to the Gray TX1800. I am looking forward to RED in which Kin has already confirmed to be one of the colors.

Far as I know, he did say via telegram that Black, Silver, Grey, and Red would be available but not the Prototype color. I wish the prototype color was also offered.

Please also provide Alu switch plate and STS weight plate for TX1800v2. I know many ppl want brass plates as it is good for linear switches and feel much premier, in the other hand may some ppl like me would like simply and down to earth design.

Furthermore, does the v2 could be assembled without diffuser layer?

I understand your opinion.
But.. I won't run GB.
If I make many kind of plate..
There will be many extra plates.
Nevertheless..
I will try to make alu plate. And SS weight bar.

Would love to see one in green or cyan!

So much this. For my job, and my love for TKL with spacings for easy key finding when touch typing, I am drooling all over this.

Plus it has a nice fat front lip so that wrist rests don't sit too close to the board (my main complaint with many keyboard kits).

Regarding the last few pending orders, last time I checked with kin (around 1-2 weeks ago) he said they should be available for dispatch in mid-Oct or late-Oct. I believe it’s currently full moon festival in Korea so you guys may not get an answer until the end of next week.

I’d appreciate any feedbacks/errors of the website. Thank you.

I know this is incredibly frustrating but I just got word from kin that factory failed to produce the bottom housing for txcp on time...Unfortunately, a few pending Titan grey orders are still current under production. He is expecting to receive those in 2 weeks. Please submit a ticket thru txkeyboards.com if you have any other questions.
Extras are not available until these orders are fulfilled. Register an account on txkeyboards.com to receive latest updates on extras.

I'll proxy some stuff if I can get a hold of kin also. I'm looking for a spare tx-cp plate, a bag and a few boards as well.

If you want to be sure, please register. I barely ever send out emails unless it’s absolutely needed.

To the last few orders, please hang in there. Kin is working closely with the factory to re-anodize the last few bad ones.

He is expecting to receive those in 2 weeks or less.

Sorry but is this still available for purchase? It seems I am still able to fill out the order form, but I'm not sure if it's just residual from past group buys. When I select brass plate would it replace my steel plate or just be added as an extra? Also, does this ship to Canada? Thanks!!!

Can you point me to a good TXCP build guide? I'd like to know the bottom row layout - how to set up the switches on the bottom row on the PCB. Thanks. I found two. It's all good.

I'm having a issue with my TX-CP PCB and was wondering if someone here can help me. Basically I soldered the switches and notification LEDS, updated the firmware to the current version (170419) , created my keymap and LED options in JigOn and all was well for about a month. Now when I try and use my TX-CP I get the RGB backlighting going in a pattern back and forth and I cannot turn them off or even connect to JigOn again. I had the LED's all colored black so I would not have to see them, the option in JigOn to turn off the backlights never worked for me. I think it might be a short because I saw this same behavior with the RGB back lighting on my TX-87 board but I cannot be sure because i see no shorts or anything else wrong with the PCB. Here is the really strange part. Key keymaps works fine. All my keys are there and everything under my Fn layers are there. I have tried multiple computers and multiple cables and the outcome is the same.

My keymap works fine
I cannot connect to JigOn to reconfigure
I cannot disable the RGB backlighting
I have used multiple computers and cables without luck
Nothing has changed
This is driving me nuts, the fact it used to work and now does not and I cannot see anything wrong with the PCB.  I have pics of my PCB if you want me to post them just let me know, thanks in advance all.

When you use Jigon, you have to connect only one L3 keyboard.

The TX-CP pcb is a direct replacement for the one in the CP-SQ btw. I just rebuilt mine last week and it has spots on the pcb for smd's for the duck feet.

Alternatively, PM me if you want to part with the CP-SQ.

It still works as a keyboard.  It is just that only RGB lights 1-4 still work, and I have to reapply the jigon profile every reboot/plugin.

Maybe after I get a replacement.

Try to reflow the solder on the RGB pads. My TX-87 was also doing the same thing with having to reapply the profile when plugged in. I update the firmware and made sure the JiGon version and firmware version were the same and no more problem.

Yup definitely make sure you upgrade to the latest firmware. Also in the latest one, you can turn off the rgb completely if it’s annoying you.

you can do it on older versions of jigon if you set all the LEDs to black

I unplugged it an used my other board for a day.

Went back to try it, and the LEDs were all working again.  Afters a reflash it seems to be working perfectly now.

Half of them was thrown away.

My PCB decided to go haywire on me... No longer working, only LED is working. Connected the USB while holding U causing the board to activate multiple keys at once and I can't stop it. Reflashing firmware doesn't do anything either.

Does anyone have a spare PCB I could buy from? I have no spare keyboard to use at the moment...

This is beautiful. I like it a lot. I tried a similar artisan - the retro TV with the Lunar surface with a GMK set.  It looked much shorter compared to the GMK profile. It'll be even shorter with SA. I had to put mine on the "del" button position in the numpad. It wasn't ideal.

Hey all, wondering if anyone can help, or point me to a solution. I got my TX-CP built and flashed the L3_171209 firmware.
When using Jigon_170419, I can't seem to save any key changes. My LED Sleep Time setting updates fine for instance, but the home keys above the numpad are stuck at default: Ins/Del, Home/End, PgUp/PgDn, NumLock/Keypad Minus. I've tried updating the layout to move the Numlock/minus around, but nothing saves, even making those rows: Pause/NumLock, Ins/Del, Home/End, PgUp/PgDwn doesn't work.
Those are really the only keys I want to change. What's odd is that when I go check in my Key checker nothing has changed, but if I connect again with JiGon everything is setup correctly.
Also the Numlock key toggles the LED on the Del key as well as the LED indicator, shouldn't that move to wherever the Numpad is now?

I read that, but they are out of sync currently on the download page; http://kbdlab.co.kr/index.php?document_srl=2702787&mid=board_sw

I got it working, ended up flashing the L3_FW_RESET.zip and then JigOn settings took just fine.

On your blog, you are showing BOK style cases for the TXCP. Is this run for the BOK style case, or is it for the actual TXCP style?

I already own a BOK so I'm only interested if its going to be the TXCP style.

The order form is still open - is this still an ongoing GB?

Until the 28th I believe.

Awesome.  If I order now, is there any estimate for shipping?  Sorry if im missing a post, tried to backtrack.

The ETA's right on the form
Thanks! Sorry about that.

Sorry i wasn't looking for the white painted boards.  The original form link is still open, and i was wondering if they're still taking orders and if so, when they would probably ship.  I'm guessing even if i submitted the form, it wouldn't lead to anything?

That's correct. That form hasn't been taking orders since 2016.

Pretty sure they don't take any more order for normal TX boards, just the white ones now. Probably forgot to take the form link down.

I got my TX-CP invoice about 24 hours ago, and mentioned it in one of the other threads.  I think I submitted my form the first day it came out, which may be why I was one of the first.

Since these are being sold under new finishes, would it be possible to order just a PCB? I need a new one.

Is there any information or a diagram for the types of layouts the TX-CP supports?  I'm particularly interested in a 1.5/1.5/7/1.5/1.5 bottom row, seems like the majority of pictures I see are 1.25/1.25/1.25/6.25/1.5/1.5

Thanks

This pic looks like it's in the config you wanted, so looks doable.

Just send a note on txkeyboards.com to be 100% sure.

Can we get an update on these? I know domestic Korean got theirs already, when will the international shipment start?

I spoke with Kin last night and he said today International orders are going out. There's a couple of other updates on the AU Discord ;)

Whenever I see these posts on high on the GB page I get excited for a second and then my heart sinks realizing that it's an old GB and the dream of owning a TX-CP is quashed again ;(

This might be a complete long shot, but if anyone happens to have made/recreated a plate file for the TX-CP would love to get ahold of it. Afaik no TX board has public plate files, but figured it was worth asking here before paying someone to laser scan it. TIA!

Haven't seen anything for the TX-CP version, but the files were released for the full case of the compact SQ.  They can be found in the Compact SQ thread, halfway down page 17 (sorry, unsure of how to link a single comment):

I haven't printed the entire thing, but recently printed the plate and used it to rebuild an old Compact SQ with the suo L3 usb-c board.

looks like some of the mounting holes are in slightly different places on the TXCP plate compared to the SQ version

Woops, I thought I mentioned in my post, I contacted TX Keyboards by e-mail directly.

It is likely, I couldn't find any images of the TXCP plate to compare.

I got mine cut at 5mm like the .dwg says.  Not a good idea, shoulda gone thinner.

Looks like Yuktsi did confirm early on that the PCB is compatible but not the plate from the SQ unfortunately. Appreciate the share though!

this wont fit similar boards that can use the same PCB, but it's a good starting for point for making bok.cp and tx.cp plate files as the key spacings are same. the bezel (that's what i'll call it) has to be reduced to 3.1 mm all around and mounting holes have to be remade. should be a quick job for someone who knows what they are doing. but it will take me all day. i was making a plate from scratch, but thanks to this i can speed up the process since i already have the bezel and most of the mounting holes made. thanks
