I'm lost.  I mean I get it but the colors are all wrong unless the US got some weird version of PSX and this is based off something else ...
There was a console based set with violet buttons that made no sense to me but sure enough the US version conntroller matched, it wouldn't surprise me if their playstations were a different shade too.  If the influence doesn't work for you and you don't like it on colour alone it's not the set for you :)

Wow! I was not expecting this to be at the 2nd page already. Thanks everyone for the interest and feedback! I am looking over all the coments and suggestions today and will be trying them out to see how everything works!

I thought about not doing an interest check and just running this as it was, but some part of me knew that someone would think of some stuff that i didnt. Im very glad that i opened it up for feedback! :)

Thought it was a little plain when I first saw it, but the little splashes of color are growing on me. I'm always a fan of sets that wouldn't look too out of place on an old keyboard.

I love your suggested accent arrow cluster. It looks amazing for this set and really pulls the theme together for me. I hope this gets in! But for the SELECT, START and ANALOG I'm kinda certain that it'd be hard to do IF it's a GMK set. Doubleshot custom legends mean new molds. But it seems fitting as well. Imagine having windowed nav cluster buttons with start and analog on there, with a green led underneath. WOOOSH baby!

The more I think about this the more I need this set. Need to pull out my PS1 and fix it up so I can play some Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. Also Tekken 3. :)

Going along with the idea of incorporating Start/Select/Analog from the controller, maybe you could incorporate other buttons like R1,R2,L1,L2, etc in the place of modifiers. Not sure how well it would look on keycaps, but you could make the arrow legends copy their respective D-Pad counterparts.

R1 R2 L1 L2 could be optional replacements for F5 F6 F7 F8. i would also suggest Select / Start being optional replacements for OS key. assuming these would all end up in a child kit

Nice. Personally I would prefer the O X etc. symbols replace the mods as some kind of unique icon mod scheme. Granted if we do this, I'm not sure how we would position it (center?) or combine some text with it. Although I know some people will really crave standard mods as well as traditionalists.

For the D pad, I think it would make most sense if they replace the arrow keys. Trying to copy the controller layout onto a keyboard layout feels a bit forced but it could be an optional kit if someone wants a wasd replacement or use it as a esc key.

Love the theme, agree re the colours if a lighter grey was an option.
Curious if the stock colours bring price down, or simply bring MOQ down. If it's MOQ, would struggle to think why this isn't custom because it's not going to be difficult if you are Dixie selling over 250 of this set.

Dualshot is a play on dualshock, the Playstation controller pad name - so it's referencing Playstation.

Unrelated to the issues over communication and feedback, I like the idea of a plain set with stock colors. Gray with rainbow mods is good enough for me, especially if the base price is low. I guess I'm not as attached to the theme as others.

I agree with you that the colours are off. I posted that high-res render of a psx for comparison.

A custom lighter grey would mostly likely make this set actually nice to look at instead of.... this.

UPDATES

Updated kits have been posted in the main post.

Here is a list of the changes:

+ Added a gray ESC key to the Standard Kit so that you have options on where you want to put the red accent, depending on what layout you use.
+ Removed 00 from the Standard Kit just to even out from the change above.
+ Added Blank arrows to the Bars Kit to represent the D-pad on the controller. Also can double as R4 1u keys needed for ortho. This was the best compromise I could come up with. They can double as cool themed keys as well as add 4 1u keys for ortho to bring the total R1 R4 keys to 12 when added to the Standard Kit. 13 including the 1u 0 key.
+ Added N9 6.25 and 7.00 spacebars to the Bars Kit for more accenting.
+ Added a Novelty Kit including accent arrows, SELECT and START, POWER (with window), ANALOG (with window), and N9 L1, L2, R1, R2 keys.

Answers to questions you will probably ask:

+ Why didn't you add UK ISO to the Standard Kit?
- The form showed very very low interest in this.

+ Why didn't you add a 1.25u Enter to the base for 40s support?
- The form showed very very low interest in this.

+ Why did you decide to stick to the Stock Colors?
- I don't see this getting to 250 kits with the current interest in the form. So stock is the best option.

+ Why didn't you add the shapes as novelties?
- I really didn't like the way they ended up looking, and I would like to stay away from using blatant Sony IP. Also, these would require custom colors.

+ Why didn’t you add an OPEN key to novelties?
- The OPEN button the PSX is blue. Which means it would have to be on the Shift row. Which would be very unbalanced. But if I put it on the Enter key to be balanced, it would be the wrong color.

Man, wouldve been down if there were options for colored on black or a darker grey on the mods or novs or icons on black or darker grey. Looks off to me with the greys being so consistent on so many of the keys. I feel like this set needs more color contrast to really stand up and out against the awesome sets this year; alter, metropolis, incoming revised olivia... :/ Good luck with the IC anyway if this ever goes live and happy building to those interested but this isnt even close to the level of sets that have been released this year... :/

UPDATES

Updated kits have been posted in the main post.

Here is a list of the changes:


+ Added Blank arrows to the Bars Kit to represent the D-pad on the controller. Also can double as R4 1u keys needed for ortho. This was the best compromise I could come up with. They can double as cool themed keys as well as add 4 1u keys for ortho to bring the total R1 R4 keys to 12 when added to the Standard Kit. 13 including the 1u 0 key.



I don't quite understand why ortho needs an extra 4, 1u R4 keys since there already plenty of r4, 1u keys needed for ortho, but it's a cool thing for those that would like some accents.

A possible solution for ortho would be to change the r2 and r3 PgUp and PgDn to something that could work for all layouts, thus making it legend agnostic (I'm not saying it has to be Out, Data, or Read either). A fun solution would be to make these novelty legends. If you didn't want to re-use some of the novelty legends from the novelty kit, you could do "Memory" or "Open". These are all just suggestions of course. Essentially, the inclusion of a 1u novelty legend in r2 and r3 would go a long way in adding support for ortho.

I think a 1u open to be used as a Fn key for split right shifts wouldn't be too unbalanced.

also any consideration for adding a windowed num lock, it doesn't even have to be a novelty just something to balance out the windowed caps and scroll lock.
