[IC] rp-60. First keyboard i've designed.
« on: Wed, 29 January 2020, 01:23:32 »
This is the first keyboard i have designed and i would like to see if it something that comes close to the calibre of keyboards that usually are posted here.
I would love some feedback on how to improve the design.

In general the keyboard is 60% layout and sandwich mount. It has a design element that is there just for looks, has an angle of 6 degrees and it is designed around the DZ60 PCB.

Do the slots on the top go all the way through? If so i think an acrylic bottom and some underglow would look pretty neat :) Like the general look of it, looks hella expensive tho  ;D

This is a beaut. It seems like it has a brass weight, but where is the bottom view? Is it sandwich mount?

No, they are completely sealed and are just there for looks.
But yeah, an acrylic or PC version would look really neat with brass plate and brass weight. I have renders of that as well.

I added the bottom view in the original post and yes it is a sandwich mount.

Love the detail, great looking board.  I just dont need another 60%.  Take this design to a full size board and wow.

You do make a good point, however, I designed it around the DZ60 for accessibility.  A 65% version could also easily be made.

I only know wack with a negative meaning haha.

Hmm yeah it looks expensive but if it somehow isn't very expensive I'd be interested in general, especially if you offered options with blockers (i.e. WKL blockers) for the top piece.

I like the design, gives me a rama vibe, in a good way.

Only thing I would personally change, is matching the front 2 corners fillet radius with either the top back corner, or even increasing it to match the roundness of the back cutouts.

Cheers though man, great first design!

Minimum of TKL.  Be bold with such a bold design and do the 1st full size in ages.  I would love a great looking full size with ISO.

So, if its based on the dz60, would you be able to use any standard 60% like the dz60? (HS60 v3 ISO for example)
