Round 4 Spherical Set has some Misfit Keycaps

Check out the fit and alignment of the L Shift, R Shift and Return keys (and the F-row is the wrong height):







@mods:  Please note that I tried to find a thread about this, but I could not.  If there is already a separate thread, maybe this can be merged with it.

7bit mentions it on DT at this link and says it was a known thing.

It was a known issue ever since Spherical was offered as an option by 7bit.
Now it seems the commando set has a fix for all that

SP didn't have the right size mold for those caps and 7bit stated that they would look like that and had a drawing to illustrate it in the group buy.  Not sure if they fixed it since.

Wow, so in two and a half years that I waited for my spherical keycaps, 7bit couldn't fix a problem that he knew existed?  Why was he given the greatest group buyer award at deskthority again?  Wasn't it because he was such a great problem solver and group-buy planner?  Also has anyone ever mentioned that the F-row is the wrong height?  The F-row is not a problem of the SP molds.  Also didn't we pay for special molds for the Shifts and the Return?  I remember something about it.  The shifts and the return and the F-row, all honestly seem more like bad planning than bad execution.  Which is not a big deal really, except that 7-bit should own up to it, instead of blaming SP.

btw, nobody commented on my awesome pics.  I wanted the defects to be obvious, without resorting to red arrows or circles or other such devices.  So I used my awesome photography skillz, instead of MS Paint or Adobe photoslop.  Anyway, I tried really hard to take some good pics.  With good bokeh.   Oh well.

Maybe they're just finally getting around to reviewing and fixing some of their "odder" products.  Several DSA keys were too large to fit, but they remedied that pretty expediently.

I don't know why this is a surprise. Even in the mock-ups on the R4 GB wiki it showed those keys as smaller width.

Seems kinda crappy to have not asked for them to be fixed, unless these are just sizes SP wasn't making. matt3o did not know about the bad molds for the DSA Retro set until he had a demo rushed out to him, and the final GB keys came with fixed replacements for the wonky mods.

Previously, SP do not have molds for the Shift and Enter keys.
You can't fix something without a mold.

Not sure what did they do with the commando set this time, but it seems that they have all the right sizes.

The money collected by 7bit was for the mold of a 7x spacebar

But yeah, this was a known problem, fixing it (paying for new molds) would have increased the price dramatically!
In the currently running Commando GB we "cheat" by using row 3 three times, kinda nice workaround...
