Hi folks,

After sharing my Hyper 7 build a few weeks ago, me and the team that helped me achieve it have been inundated with requests to offer the PCBs for sale - so as such we are conducting a small IC to see if a GB is going gain any traction.

During R1 we produced 10 PCBs and all hand soldered them - in R2 we will have these professionally soldered by /u/Yiancar. During R1 we had two rows on the angled board and 6 on the flat - however, the current thinking is to change this for three on the top and 5 on the bottom in line with the original design, but we are open to feedback on this. The board runs QMK and has its own fork for you to create your own hex files as well.

If there are any questions, we are happy to field them below.

In terms of timescales (if there is significant interest) we will begin the GB process in 2 weeks time for a one week period. Once closed we will have a week firebreak for payment and then approx 3-5 weeks for production. For price, given the size, and number of components required we are estimating in the region of £120-£130 plus shipping, but this will be dependant on the order total and may be a bit cheaper. At this point there is no plans to offer a case or plates or caps - but if there is enough interest we might add those into a future group buy. I will make the plate files available to anyone who orders though.

Also worth noting that the board won first place at the MKUK meetup for 'best in show' last weekend!!

Don't care how much an aluminum case would be, I need that too.

And that Space Cadet keyset, might as well tack that on too.

Edit:

I'd be alright with either 2+6 or 3+5. What I like about the 2+6 is that all of the F keys remain in two columns in the same "section"

Also, what's the reason behind using two switches for the 2u keys?

I would be in, but only if the SA Symbiosis R2 set includes Hyper 7 Kit to fill this beast. Otherwise this wouldn't make too much sense.

I'm kinda in the same boat at this point. I feel like I'll pick up the PCBs anyway.

I will buy it if you provide solutions for the plate and case files you used(WOOD PLANKS). I need that Space cadet you used so tell me what you did to get em. I NEED THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks man - Hopefully launch soon. Once the revised PCBs are here, I'll redraft my files for the wood case I've made so far so we can get the angles right and share with anyone interested. I'm also looking at adding in plates - but this is not looking cheap at the moment, but I'll add it all that I can in the GB at bare cost.

I don't even know what kinda question that is supposed to be tbh... might be a language thing but you might wanna have think about how you word questions...
