GMK HASRO/SAV Add-on kit

IC FORM

This set is intended to pay homage to OG dye sub HASRO/SAV sets, but in ABS rather than PBT. I originally wanted to run a full base kit but decided to run alphas only to not conflict with sets running soon or that have run recently. The original version was run a long time ago in 2017, so I want to bring it back slightly modernized with Qarmaa's updated sublegends. Thank you for taking the time to read through this post and please fill out the IC form with any feedback.

Maybe I'm the only person who's perplexed by this, but I've noticed that the '/' mod-pipe sublegend is on the upper half of the key in newer GMK cyrillic kits, instead of on the bottom like in older GMK sets or OG hasro/sav. Anyone knowledgeable can explain why this is the case?

Would much prefer the '/' being on the bottom for the sake of accuracy if it's possible.

ETA: Similar thing with the 'Ë' sublegend as well

Exactly what's needed. I am 100 % in for multiple kits. If you also do green Griseann on beige as kit 2 it would be the cherry on top. Tyvm!!
edit: Also imo text+icon tab is a must for an og add-on kit

Switching sublegends to qarmaa's sublegends. Moving the sublegend on the pipe key to align on the bottom instead of the top to match the original set better. Adding mod pipe and mod tilde to the kit.

Both variants exist on the original keyboards when it comes to that legend. It's all a matter of manufacturing date; Cherry changed the position at some point.

For example, if you look here you'll see two G81-3100SAVs made on different dates, each using a different position for that legend.

Proper pipe sublegend placement is on top 'cause this follows the logic when you hold Shift to enter the secondary legend (Shift + , → < and etc). Ё follows the same logic as well (it's primary legend in Cyrillic layout, so should go on the bottom).

I think mainly hineybeige is going to group buy soon. Once I get the new renders I'll update the IC form to ask if people would prefer just alphas or a whole kit. I think just an alphas kit should be enough.

at least for me personally, it's hard to grok exactly why people would want a worse version of HASRO/SAV, since GMK's pad print quality has been mixed over the years, but reading through the thread there's clearly at least some demand for it, so i'll just hold my L on this one

i already have the CRP version so i'll be skipping, but respect a good add-on kit regardless, gl

It is true that it's not used anymore but I prefer keeping the aesthetics similar to the original, that's all.

That's a legit point. However, GMK may not have the molds to produce the split bar legend at all the rows where the set includes a pipe-back-slash. Let's see what the OP decides.

As a guy who's actually using a RU layout, several things piss me off with 99% of Cyrillic sets on the market (and are the reason why I still don't own a single Cyrillic set despite typing in RU daily):
1. FONTS. Every time I see that OG Д or that OG Й I want to vomit all over my keyboard. Why do we still have sets in that font is beyond me. I'm super hyped for this set because it's using a font that actually looks great.
2. Small errors here and there. Some sets miss some sublegends. In other sets the sublegend placement is off.

OP has a chance to make a set that's actually not plagued by all of these problems, but then we'll need Ё in the bottom, red "/" in the top. You can check how RU layout works here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/globalization/keyboards/kbdru.html.

No news from me yet sadly, EU and UK vendors pulled out so need to find replacements.
