Gold 3279  - A  keyboard fit for King Midas himself. It is a beamer...and it is GOLD. Totally up your street cred with this. "Gold all on my chain, gold all on my ring.."

[Edit]: Also notice that the numbers on that placard match the numbers on the bottom label of this keyboard.  :))

Also, can someone gild me a beamspring when I retire?

That placard and the fact that this came from their estate hit me in the feels. Would love to know the whole story behind it.

It was quite an emotional day. Jewell retired and was replaced with a younger model and this poor guy was replaced by a Model M  :(

Kinda makes me sad, I see that most likely came from someone that really loved there job and there equipment. A person who took pride in what they had. I mean that keyboard is pretty obvious they did with how nice it looks. Now something most likely happened being estate sale. There family's just like meh who cares its garbage. I really hope that keyboard gets a loving home and ends up in a good collection.

Obviously, "Jewell" typed on this thing every day for years—so when she retired, her co-workers painted it gold, and had the commemorative plaque made, as a gag retirement gift. It was a safe bet that the dang keeb was not something she'd want to keep seeing for the rest of her life. LOL.

Also, can someone gild me a beamspring when I retire?

Therefore, to be possess'd with double pomp,
To guard a title that was rich before,
To gild refined gold, to paint the lily,
To throw a perfume on the violet,
To smooth the ice, or add another hue
Unto the rainbow, or with taper-light
To seek the beauteous eye of heaven to garnish,
Is wasteful and ridiculous excess.
