How do we keep the bottom brass e-clear coating clean? I am getting little marks on it while using it on a deskmat.

How do we keep the bottom brass e-clear coating clean? I am getting little marks on it while using it on a deskmat.

Handle it with the included gloves.  Use microfiber to remove small fingerprint marks.

For more serious tarnishing, dissolve 1tsp salt in 1/2 cup white vinegar.  Then add enough flour to thicken it to a paste.  Brush it onto your brass, let it sit 10 minutes,  rinse it off thoroughly, dry it and buff it clean with microfiber cloth.

I did this with my matrix 1.2 og weight and it came great!

Also just realized yours was eclear - the polish is for raw brass and may not work with eclear coating.

I was thinking of doing this - how did you go about this? Also does anyone know what the Pantone colour is of the e-teal?

DHL just called me to say that there is £17 of import duty and taxes before I can have it delivered to me (I'm not exactly surprised at this as HMRC inevitable) and I expected that I would need to pay something. Just glad it's not royal mail; as they charged me an additional £8 for the privilege of getting my money to HMRC when I ordered switches from Novelkeys.

no i did not. I think the lighting is the key it look sgreat from an angle and not so great from above. Im going to try to put a small cutout behind it so it can be lighted a bit more and see how that works. (right now the PCB is whats behind it and white doesn't highlight the pc engraving so well i think).

Are you using the rubber pad? I mean pretty much all keys will sound different from each other. My left arrow does sound a little more hollow than other adjacent keys but it's not really much more. I can tell the progression from left, to down to right.

HugoKeys built one last night.  It was quite an adventure trying to get the split backspace working.

I am trying to get a plate cut for ISO, is the thickness on the PC plate the same as metal?  1.5mm?  I probably cant go with 2mm because of the clearances but will going smaller with 1mm work?

Got tracking information on the 13th of May, and received a text later asking me about shipment details on how to deliver package like if it was okay to leave at door without any signatures. Says estimated delivery date was May 18th from the text, but when just manually entering the tracking number on a desktop (or anything not from the phone link) it just says Shipment Information Received. When I clicked on the phone link again (sent this to my desktop to open), it gives me a lot more details for today saying they received the package, but it's currently on hold in HK with still an estimated shipping date of May 18th. Hopefully that's true for the May 18th part.

Edit: My tracking number through paypal is different from the one that was sent through text but the final destination is the same, so I'm just hoping for the best.
DHL shipping is quite confusing tbh.

1.5mm is the standard for Cherry MX compatible switches. If you go thicker it will interfere with the retention clips. Smaller and you'll have to compensate with thicker gaskets i suppose...

The Hotswap still has the Reset switch. However, the button seems to be snipped and flushed.
I'll will assemble later, and see the result. If it is still pushed against the bottom and causing problem, will desolder it.

Mine is currently sitting on hold in HK.

I called DHL, and they said everything is fine, it's currently waiting for room on a plane to be shipped over to the US.

Mine is also still scheduled for Monday 5/18 delivery.

jeez, you called DHL over that? international logistics are ****ed right now, I would just expect it to come when it comes. However, once it clears US customs it will probably be pretty quick. Mine is in the same place, tracking has just said Hong Kong all week with Monday delivery.

Well, yes I called DHL.  Googling it, there are a few reasons it might have been held and some require action on my part.  Gotta call to make sure!  Not sure why that's so shocking.
