New Shipping Policy
« on: Mon, 26 November 2012, 23:48:18 »
After the promotion today, it got me thinking that I hate paying for shipping and go to great lengths to avoid paying it.

As of today the new shipping policy for techkeys is as follows:

US
Orders under $25 are $4.50, orders over $25 ship FREE

Canada
Orders under $50 are $6.50 orders over $50 ship FREE

World
Orders under $50 are $8.00 orders over $50 ship FREE

Sounds good - apart from anything else it is a clear and simple statement of shipping costs.

Thank you :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I ordered a $33 brobot key but it charged me for shipping. Is there something different with those keys as opposed to regular techkeys.us stock?

Due to the USPS price hikes, I am forced to modify my shipping policy.

The free shipping on domestic orders over $25 and international orders over $50 will remain.

Canada will now be the same as international, as the USPS now charges the same as international for Canadian Shipping

International shipping has been raised to $9.00

I really hate doing this, but as I have been shipping out items this weekend, I have lost money on shipping costs.

Traced directly to USPS increases.  Sounds reasonable to me.

Shipping rates have not changed since the above post in 2013, but they have been hiked by the USPS at least 3 times.  I was just notified that as of the 17th prices will be hiked yet again and this time the increase is 10% to 25%

As a result, TechKeys will be forced to raise its shipping rates.  Come the 17th expect a hike of about 50 cents to a dollar.  I am hoping to keep the free shipping on X amount of purchase in place.

That's a shame, but understandable.

Australia Post has just put the price for a single stamp (normal sized envelope) up from $0.70 to $1

Seems like the time of year for all postage costs to go up.
