Hello everybody, it's finally here, GMK Shoko 2nd Style or Round 2. I know a lot of people were looking forward to the set and it's finally here.

This group buy will run from August 11 to September 15, thank you for your patience and I really appreciate it!

The estimated shipping date is going to be July 2021, but given the typical delays of GMK nowadays a month or two may be added on top of it.

Why Shoko? Who in the world is Shoko?
Shoko Aoi is my Discord alias as well as a character in a Japanese rhythm game called "Pop'n Music" and she's my favorite girl, but the colors kinda strayed a bit away from the original concept sorta (honestly the original colors were really bad, soooooo yeah had to change it), but the colors are somewhat like her Pop'n Music Sunny Park's clothing colors, which I think looks nice (but she's my favorite so clear bias). Tho crazy me still wanted a bit of that teal in there, so the accents became teal since that's her hair color (I wish I had something for her green eyes though ).

The real price of the base kit is 126 GBP, which is 140 EUR less a few pennies - that's one of the most expensive base kits I've seen in a while... Really sucks when you also need the "Obscure" kit (I'm offended ) for another 47 GBP or 52 EUR. Ouch.

Some other 40's/non-standard kits have been called Obscure Kits before like 9009 R3 and 8008 did, sorry if the name is offensive to you, but I found it appropriate. And thank you for pointing out that the pricing is non-inclusive of VAT, it slipped my mind since Jae had his price listed without VAT on his website. I just included it in the pricing chart which hopefully clears things up.

GMK now estimates a late Q4 production completion, with about a month and a half of transit. Estimated arrival Q1 2022.

I dont understand is why is it not even in production. Where is any update that they was again not going to meet the ship date and again be pushed back? This GB has been almost 2 years old now. I know we had a delay because of some production issues but to be told that they expect it to be SHIPPED in October and now be told that it might not even be produced in Q4 and if it does it might be shippeed out in Q1 of next year is just not right.

1. Often what happens is that everyone knows it’s wrong but GMK has no idea when it’ll be done so they don’t give estimates. What Omnitype did that I liked was give the estimate and the date the estimate was made. If the estimate was several months old…you know it’s wrong.

2. Shoko was attempted to be rerun in April 2020. Due to communication issues it was canceled. It ran in August 2020; see link below. It ran roughly concurrently w minimal r2 (5.5k base kits), and minimal closed earlier, and minimal has been shipping in 2022 for several months now, which is why I wrote what wrote above. So it’ll be ~18 months, which isn’t exactly a shocker right now, and not the two years you’d said.

It probably is delayed due to the resin shortage. A lot of GMK sets are shipping when the resin arrives, regardless of order in the queue it seems.

Kono charges the highest pre order/extras prices and on top of that they ship via boat instead of air like the other vendors.  That's why their products take so much longer to deliver than other vendors.

For example regarding to prices, GMK Fuyu extras were $180 on Kono and GMK Nuclear Data extras were $185 on Omnitype, and GMK Nuclear Data has less keys. And I see similar pricing for GMK Prepress and GMK Ursa. Again, similarly NK sells all their extras for $185.
Also I am fairly sure I read port related stuff in other vendors' updates, but can't remember if it is regarding to keyboards or keycaps. From a quick check of the updates I can't find any mention to ports but also I am not finding any mention to air ship either. So, can't confirm either way, but that post doesn't provide any proofs either.

Edit: I just realized that I heard about ports on vendor discords. So if you go Omnitype or Cannonkeys discord and search for "port" you can see that they also seem to be using boats. Omnitype seem to get theirs to Savannah port and Cannonkeys to LA port.

also recently kono has been doing some egregious extras pricing, from my memory they sold some Firefly leftovers for $200+ for base, and most recently GMK Yugo (which is a TKL kit too!) for $220. I don't want to get too off topic though

They are planning on selling their GMK Ishtar extras for $220 as well. Sounds like they have upped their extra pricing for GMK across the board. I would expect them to sell Shoko extras for the same increased priced.

That is insane. I ordered Shoko R2 extras from DailyClack a couple weeks ago and just received it on Friday... Definitely reach out to Kono somehow. I've never ordered from them before but I've heard fulfillment usually takes forever.

I received a text from UPS yesterday stating I had to pay import taxes for an incoming shipment from "ASSEMBLY". base kit showed up today.

Just emailed support recently and they confirmed they are in fact, still working on shipping Shoko sets out. I have also received a shipment from Kono before with no email warning at all as well.

Seems like a number of people have gotten warped spacebars (at least in the sets from Kono). Is there going to be any coordinated process to deal with this or does everyone need to deal with it on their own?
