Here are some kit updates!!

Addition kit

Due to popular demand: inclusion of full ISO-UK support and the addition of accented ISO UK enters! The alternative 65% row is also completed for more options there.

This change just changed this set from an easy skip to a definite consideration for me, damn.

I don't suppose there's any plan for 9009 inspired novelties (Deal, etc.?) like EPBT has? Always found those quite fun.

I admit I'm biased as the only BoW Portuguese caps that have been made in the GMK era are WS1 and not L9. A detail I missed when I joined and didn't think much about until I saw the two side by side

WS1 is distinctly whiter than L9. This set would be substantially changed from previous revisions if the designer were to do that.

Yes, 9009 without L9 would not be 9009. This is definitely not something that will change.

Yes, 9009 without L9 would not be 9009. This is definitely not something that will change.

I meant instead to include it in the base kit as that would mean not having to pick up the "Addition" kit for just one key.

In that case R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn should definitely be moved to the base kit as well. At which point it may not be worth moving anything at all.

I think Accent colors on at least the 1.75u and 1u Enter Keys on the 40’s Kit would really be a nice addition.

Just 4 more keys, and many many 40% could have those sweet sweet Accents.

As it stands now, the Addition kit contains full support for UK ISO (eight+two keys: ISO left Shift, ISO Enter, R1 `¬, R1 2", R1 3£, R3 '@, R3 #~ and R4 \| — also, two accented ISO Enter keys). This means that three out of the four keys required to fully support US ISO are present... with only R3 \| still needed.

So, the Addition kit could well add one key: R3 \| and bring full UK+US ISO support with it.

One more thing: the base kit, as it stands now, has two 1.25U "Alt" keys, but one "Alt" and one "AltGr" 1.5U keys (plus exactly one 1U Alt key).

IMHO (YMMV, WDIKAA), if "international" support is going to remain in the Addition kit, perhaps the base kit should contain two 1.25U and two 1.5U "Alt" keys, and have the Addition kit contain one 1.25U and one 1.5U "AltGr" keys (and perhaps a 1U AltGr key as well).

Some time ago, I was using this vintage NCR set that was depicted as an US ANSI international set, featured by a Lab keyboard intended for international use. An R3 ~` key may fits it as well.

Well... it does fit an XT keyboard, on which the `~ key was indeed in that place in R3 (note the pretty telling */PrtSc key on the bottom right corner, as well). But it really doesn't fit anymore, since the F AT keyboard moved it to the top left corner (a place that was retained in the Enhanced layout and is still standard). As much as I'd like some keys of yore to return, adding an R3 `~ key would cause quite a lot of problems (IMHO, YMMV, WDIKAA) for users nowadays.


That said, nice-looking keyboard!

Good. I cannot pass on a classic and my all time color-way favorite.
With obscure my lil fellow 50 kb will get all its proper legends and profiles, including tab, enter and split space bars. Nice.

Here are some kit updates!!

There are still some issues with the kits. For starters, there is no R5 1.25u Fn key present in any kit. In my opinion, the R5 1.25u Menu key in the Standard kit should be replaced with an Fn key, or at least moved to the Addition kit in favor of a bottom row Fn key being added to base. Fn can serve as a suitable replacement for Menu, whereas the reverse is not really true. I'd also argue that an Fn key in that spot is much more Standard than Menu is.

Further, a R3 1.75u Function key should probably be added to the Addition kit, being a popular Caps Lock replacement option (albeit somewhat underrepresented in GMK sets). The Addition kit description states that it offers “some options for different legends in the 65% and caps lock area”, so I think this suggestion fits the bill straight up.

With any further additions to the Addition kit (such as moving the Alt Gr keys there, as someone suggested), I'd like to ask you to consider moving the R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn, R4 End keys to the Standard kit. They're pretty much as common as the other competing options at this point — if not more so — and this will help avoid bloat in the smaller kit. I see I'm not alone in asking this.

Very happy with kit changes, should keep base very reasonable. My only suggestion would be what constexpr mentioned, 3/4 PgUP/PgDn, R4 end.

R5 makes this run of 9009 the real classic thing. Even more, if you consider that it features r5 with 1.5 mods which would be a first in icons version in this color way.
