Taking the HAMPO out today so that he can be frenched

Alphas taken from a NIB G81-1901HAF (don't worry F5-8 are in a safe place).

Kept the non legend ISO enter that I prefer to french legended (I can be azerty critical sometimes  :)) )

Even if the manual has a french version , french G80-5000 is not something that ever existed it seems.

Found a Compaq G80-11800 in office's storage and it has since been rigged to my work PC:

Goodness knows when was the last time it's used, but everything still worked, including the trackball.

Do you know if the trackball works with Windows 10? I have had some issues with windows 10 and older usb. Is that usb?

Nop, I don't think so. Retr0bright is considered harmful for plastics and anyway, in my experience, it often (and randomly) leaves marks on the plastic.

Such beautiful keycaps though :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

So far I have tested it in Windows 7. Haven't have the chance to do it with Windows 10 (there's only one client PC with Windows 10 at my office and I can't bring it home since it's needed for troubleshooting machines with no USB input).

The trackball works with Windows 10, granted I had the keyboard attached to PS/2 ports as opposed to using a converter.
