How to determine correct keycap sizes?
« on: Sun, 25 May 2014, 23:31:17 »
I have a Poker II and have been looking into replacing the Win and Space keys. Can anyone give me exact specs of the keycaps or a link to a website that sales keycaps that would work?

Sorry, but will a 6.2x key work for the 6.25x R1? Sorry, I am really new to this.

6.2x I think may work, but there will be a slightly larger gap between the keys

are you talking about keys from signature plastics?

they call 6.25x as 6.2x in their system.

For SP, row 1 is the top row, for other vendors it is the bottom row. The numbering differs between keycap vendor. Cherry/GMK and Topre use letters instead. See http://deskthority.net/wiki/Keyboard_profile#Numbering

Signature Plastics' does not have OEM profile. You could get them at WASD Keyboards.
SP's is slightly lower and the bottom row keys have a more acute angle.

Actual 6.2x will not work with a 6.25x board. The stems are spaced differently.

SP 6.2x is actually 6.25x.

there will be a little more gap between your caps if use 6.2

I don't know why they call it 6.2x, but it's not noticeably different from any other 6.25x spacebar that you're used to. Every SP set that fits that layout comes with that spacebar.

Perhaps this key caps' reference will be of some help. Of course,
the one key-cap size missing is the space bar. So it goes. This is
a general reference guide. Some of my keyboards differ from the
general reference below.
