Tp4 plans to finally master rachmaninoff arrangement of bumblebee.
Though Tp4's piano is trash, so, the keyresponse ain't very fast..Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/fIgQDR3.gif)
Last Thursday, my company mandated all employees worldwide work from home. Since I'm in software, it's no problem. VPN and RDP and Microsoft Teams to work on stuff and talk to coworkers. I have triple monitors at home, so there's no degradation in working ability except for easier distraction at home (e.g. dog coming in for pets, wife talking to me).
One nice thing is that I get to roll out of bed about an hour later because there's no commute. By the time we get back to our physical space, we'll have a new office space, so that'll be fun maybe.
I may start playing Command and Conquer during lunch (shhhh!).

I was on GH pretending to pay attention during remote meetings from 9 to 11, walked the dog at 11:30, and replaced my AC motor from 12 to 1:30. So no work has been accomplished by me today. This sounds a lot like my 'workday' would if anyone was ever stupid enough to let me work from home :))
I'm starting working from home next week.
Age of Empires II remastered and Starcraft remastered will be on second screen:)
Play video games and binge watch my backlog of... *cough* I mean work hard and do overtime at home! :p
Can't work from home. In saying that I only have to work 3 days a week. Thank you 12 hour shifts.

Your boss must be an ass to deal with then.
National parks are giving free passes during this. A beautiful hike is a good way to get out of the house and also be isolated.
Had some stuff go down at my company today that made me pucker.... hit a little too close to home.
I am going to be working my butt off to ensure I still have a job. Honestly, it's a blessing that I still have a job.
My plan as of Midnight is DOOM Eternal until either this virus is gone or all the minions of Hell are dead. Whatever comes first.
how much Wurk are y'all actually getn' done on lock down.I have to go down to the lab and check up on everything to make nothing's exploded yet, every other day, and refill liquid nitrogen every week. Also, answer emails about planning and acquisitions, and check on some other stuff.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/ouSRWX4.gif)

Ranges from about 30 min to 120 min in total per day, the latter really only on refill days.
Unfortunately no, that's for the biologists.I have to go down to the lab and check up on everything to make nothing's exploded yet, every other day, and refill liquid nitrogen every week. Also, answer emails about planning and acquisitions, and check on some other stuff.

Any chemistry trix for Coronavirus, chyros ?

The things we do would be considered overkill by normal peeps :p .
this forces anyone trying to get on a train to get close to the queue to buy a ticket

Not as much as I should. There was a bit of a rush by everybody I work with to get designs into the council for planning so all deadlines went from whenever to ASAP. I've got everything done except for my main project which is difficult (control room for moveable bridge) and I don't really know what I'm doing so I'm getting distracted whenever I get stuck.

Thought it were just a bunch of switches and relays hooked up to a validated control panel.
I'm a public lighting consultant with a sideline in building services for housing estates and apartments so this is a little bit over my head.
That's quite hard to achieve with LED because they typically have a much higher glare rating than traditional incandescent bulbs. This is the main issue with them rather than the color temperature which I think you sort of get accustomed to. Glare is the basically the perceived contrast between the light source and the rest of the space. This is most of what grates on people with LED although they're not really able to articulate it and start going on about blue light giving them headaches. I'm dealing with a ton of light spill planning objections from people who have really low light spill on their property and I think it's glare that's at fault. Because
The more expensive Philips fittings have pretty good glare reduction. I always liked how metal halide street lights look best but they're not energy/cost efficient so they're not going to be using those anymore.
Well chemists are the kind of people who would just KMnO4 it..... Or worse, some tBuLi, iBu3Al, Me2Zn, etc. :D (basically the "kill it with fire" approach - the latter three compounds are highly pyrophoric)Unfortunately no, that's for the biologists.

you made me curious, overkill is best... especially with demons

So that's a spectral distribution issue no ?
How does glare rating work.

Mitigating glare is kind of complicated I'm not sure the industry have a good handle on it yet as it's partly psychological and hard to measure. There's a thing called the Unified Glare Rating. Here's a bit of a writeup that explains a few of the factors.

I guess the reason people are putting these LED strips behind their computer monitors is to reduce the contrast between light and dark and the associated eye fatigue. Old fashioned light fittings threw light all over the room fairly evenly with LED you're going to need way more light points, with associated installation costs.
People nowadays are decorating their houses like commercial buildings with mostly light colours and minimal soft furnishings. This makes them easier to clean but makes them less relaxing cos you've all this light and sound bouncing off all the hard surfaces.
screens on a wall a few feet from our desk
I haven't a clue to be honest. I think TP's idea that we should all be mounting screens on a wall a few feet from our desk probably makes some sense. You'd be less tied to one position. I haven't tried it yet but I like the idea cos my home office is big but I don't like the idea of buying a TV to try it for a few days then discover I prefer using a monitor.
@TP I might try experiment with that till I save up for a Predator Thanos.

Some jobs require your physical presence to actually do said job.
