Very nice clean setup :)

Shame no-one makes monitor with white bezel.

There are a few choices in white IPS displays like Yamsaki Q270, Eizo 2736W and Fujitsu P series.

You call that messy?  I wish mine was half as tidy as that :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Its on backwards.  Some people prefer the spacebar to be flipped for typing feel.  Personally, it is not for me...

So you use your tablet with a bluetooth mouse and a 60%?

What's the advantage compared to a laptop / netbook?

Well there really isn't a laptop/net book that uses MX Browns or Reds (or any mech switch) and that I can draw on in Illustrator with a pressure-sensitive pen. Or I can sit on the couch and use as a tablet.  It's perfect for me. Not saying it's what everyone needs though.

I can't manage with that wedge mouse. I need a palmrest on my mice.

I like the tablet+mech setup, very nice. Does it do anything significant to the battery life?

Yeah, the wedge mouse is only what I use when I'm out. I have a Logitech wireless for home use but it's a bit bigger.

Neither the KB nor the mouse (or even turning off BT) have any effect on battery life.  To be honest, the battery life isn't great anyway (it's the original Surface Pro and also has some battery wear).  I still love having a "mech KB laptop".

Here's mine, sorry for the potato quality, the only camera I own is my phone camera. It's a custom built PC with Windows 7, a Poker II with MX reds, a cheepo mouse from Walmart, and then two mix and matched monitors all on my grandpa's old desk. The whole setup is a little bit Frakensteined but it's my Frankenstein and I love every bit of it. Currently thinking about getting a custom Noko wrist rest and a custom USB cable.

My office room is a work in progress. I just repainted the walls (black & white as you can see) and put a new lamp. Here's the result as of a few days ago:

Since then I painted the door frame in black. Cable management "above the desk" could be better but below the desk it's already fine.

Since then I painted the door frame in black. Cable management "above the desk" could be better but below the desk it's already fine.

HHKB Pro JP (sadly no USB HUB on the HHKB Pro JP), a cheap Logitech mouse, an old piece of green felt which I use as a mousepad, a MacBook Pro 1st gen, two HP LaserJet 4M+ "PC LOAD LETTER" / "WTF does that mean" printers, Aeron chair without armrest (but with a coat hanger ; )

Parquet flooring - is it warm(ish) in winter?

PC LOAD LETTER - PC = paper cassette, it wants you to load letter-sized paper.  We had two of those at work, fantastic work-horses!

But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

What tower is that? It looks quite wide, almost makes me wonder if you have a horizontally mounted motherboard....
I think fractal design r4.  :p

Correctumundo, Fractal Design Define R4. This thing is a dream to build to build in, it's so wide because of the cable management.
I just rebuilt the fiancee's computer in a Fractal R4 and can attest to the cable management options. And it's not super tall, so most PSUs will allow the cabling to be run around back without extensions. And the non-windowed versions have ridiculous sound dampening. She actually told me yesterday she can't even hear it running and I have it loaded up with fans and her CPU cooler is still stock (Intel i7) and she has a blower-style fan on her GPU, if that tells you how quiet it is.

Parquet flooring - is it warm(ish) in winter?

PC LOAD LETTER - PC = paper cassette, it wants you to load letter-sized paper.  We had two of those at work, fantastic work-horses!

He he, I know  ;D    I was quoting the movie "Office Space" where the printers shows "PC LOAD LETTER" and the user gets angry:

Regarding parquet flooring: it's a bit of a special building anyway for there are no radiators at all. The heating is entirely "inside" the floors. It's not that uncommon around here but it's definitely not the most common either. So with the heat coming from the floor, it's warm everywhere: even in the entrance where the marble is warm (!)

I like both parquet and carpet that said  :))
