Dude, take a look at my desk.

If it's this one or this one, I'm with that.

If you mean this one then  ^-^  ^-^  ^-^

The second one (and the third one ^.^ ) is current.  Minus the keycaps.  I would not be okay with that as a permanent fixture on my desk.
Holy crap Hoff, that's a an epic pile of keycaps!  :thumb: and dat collection of vinyl, mmmmm :p

Nice set ups, sir!
May I know what desk you used for the play set up? Have been looking for the wood desk with that length for times. Is the desk about 2 metters in length?

It doesn't look like they sell it anymore, however I got whole desk setup from Ikea! The top is a VIKA FURUSKOG from Ikea, and the legs are from there as well (not sure on the name of them). The whole desk ended up around $80 or so.
So it's Ikea, I'm using a white Ikea LINNMON desk 2 meters in length, and want to replace it with a wood looking one with the same length.
Thanks for the heads up. :thumb:

This is my work setup:

CTRL + ALT + F4 switches my monitors for when I want to sit or stand.

SSK to use when I sit down, and a PokerX with ergo clears for standing. :D

You have your own kettle on your desk - coffee addict or something? :p

And all you people with views of trees out your windows don't know how lucky you are.  The closest window to me looks out on a tiny alley between a cluster of tall buildings at the back of our building at work.

Nice SGI pad but a little small, if I had one like that I'd have to get a G-502 mouse with 12000 dpi. ;D

The OS disk of my tower just died (1st generation Vertex SSD) and I don't have money yet to replace it. So for now I am running everything off my laptop.
It's in the dock to the left and I coupled it with an external usb monitor to read reports on.

There is a wooden platform in my room that has stairs under it that lead down the neighbors apartment. I really hate it. It's like a giant tumor in my room but it makes for a unique setup I guess.

There is what it looks like without the bed. All I did was simply put a loft bed above the couch. and no I haven't rolled off yet lol.

I did not realize that's what I was looking at in the first picture. That's a sick setup with an amazing use of small space despite the architectural feature.

I think Blue was referring to the fact that blacks have a higher actuation force than blues so your statement is a bit confusing.  If you want it heavier than blacks then it's going to be way heavier than blues.

Do you mean lighter than black and heavier than blue? Blues are lighter than black switches so your request isn't possible.

I stand corrected :)

Thank you! But, if it is as you say, assume this:
I LOVE my blue mx, I really do. But they are stiff, so that might be it, I might need a lighter "break"?
I have a CoolerMaster Quickfire Rapid now, and, as I said, I love it. The feel is right, but somethings are missing, and I cant really place my finger on it.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Went through most of the pages and I'm really impressed by some of these setups :)

So it's time to post my own I guess!

That's how it looked till yesterday until I swapped my table around.

Ignore the white sticker thingy on my GFX.

Wanted to change something, so my table and bed got a new position :D

Whole room (more or less)

Sorry for the bad quality pictures. And before you ask, yes it's always that clean. Maybe a glass or something for drinks, but nothing more really.
Thinking about to set up a third 19" widescreen monitor in portrait mode, but don't know exactly how to do it. Got these two connected via DVI, and got 2 mini DP and one HDMI left (PowerColor HD 6950), any tips?

And I'm probably going to get another shelf for my tower, so it doesn't stand directly on the ground.

Kind regards, jonny ~

Doesn't that daylight behind your monitor bother you? Or do you always have the shade down?
My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

Updated desk, updated monotors, thinking of updating keyboard to something less heavy then Cherry MX blye, yet heavier then Cherry MX Black.
Size does matter, the smaller, the better.

+1 for Matrix screen saver :)

I love it too! Can't seem to find a good one for OS X.

I have one - works well on Snow Leopard :D

Is that as far as the compatibility goes?

It's not directly behind my monitor and since there are a lot of trees in front of my windows the sun barely gets directly into my room, which is pretty nice :)
Only got them closed at night.

Welcome to Geekhack!

That looks like a room you could be comfortable in :)

I finally was able to build my new desk (standing only) and as soon as I get all of my hardware properly set up and sexified, I'll post some pictures!

Thanks!!! I always love your stuff, and to hear you like mine is an honor :)

I use an Olympus PEN E-P2 (Micro Four Thirds) with an Olympus 17mm mFT Lens.

The 2 photos I posted above are of terrible quality though, which I took without a tripod; they're out of focus :(

I have better photos in other threads :)

Here are some better examples of what it can take ~ They aren't great, but for the price, it takes decent photos:

it goes both ways! i assure you the admiration is mutual :thumb:
the detail on the grain of those clacks are awesome!

thanks for the response on the gear as well; i've read good things about the PEN system

all of my shots are handheld; high iso screwing up the details (and shaky hands)
maybe i can get cleaner shots if i invested on a tripod.

The PEN system is absolutely amazing for the form factor and size, but DSLR in similar price range will usually always have better quality because there is nothing to be sacrificed with a fullsize.

Good sir, my tip to you is that you MUST get a tripod. Even if it's a cheap $30 one, get one. A tripod goes a very very very long way in terms of photo quality. You won't regret it.

I take all my shots on fairly low ISO, and it'd be impossible without a tripod. High ISO may compensate for not having a tripod but you'll end up with a lot of noise.

that's what's amazing with your photos. they are at par (even better) than some dslr taken shots.
but then again, i'll attribute the beauty of the shots on your skills/technique, with gear a distant second.

indeed! and will definitely take that tip.
thank you sir!

Am I the only person who uses 1 monitor? Lol... I think it's clean looking.
But it's cool seeing these 4+ monitor setups.. Like you're from the future! :p
