Hello!
« on: Fri, 03 July 2015, 12:12:40 »
Hello,
some days ago I joined this forums because I've been active on /r/mk for quite some time. All began some years ago when I bought a Das Model S. But now something about me: I am from Germany and therefore I love ISO DE keyboards - and only ISO DE keyboard which is sometimes quite complicated ;) ... but it is worth the effort, you'll notice after using an ISO DE for a while that apart from the German special characters the special characters are arranged - in my humble opinion - more logical but that might be just me being strange... My collection's flagship is the abovementioned Das Model S but it might be getting a rival soon, I am on to buy a Pok3r. Another foible of me is that I think Cherry MX Blue are the only switched worth to buy ;) ... but again, just me - you know. Apart from that my collection is having some older keyboards (http://imgur.com/a/aIR76 for example - very proud of it; and I am trying to find out how the old connection works to build an USB adapter). I will upload pictures of my whole collection soon.
Hopefully I did not annoy you too much with this post but that am I.
With best regards from Germany,
lxndio

Welcome to Geekhack!

There's probably someone here who could tell you what those switches are, and how to wire up the keyboard to work through USB.  You'll probably end up with a Teensy, maybe.

Nice keycaps too :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
