That is why I am doing the first one! If I get something cool for $45 then sweet but if I am going to sink another $45 I would want to know what cool thing I might get.

No need to be so presumptuous, I am over ordering on most GB's so that I can sell the extras in the UK and send the profit to GH.

A small update. We are going to start the group buy in the US/EU as well as in South Korea with our buddies over KBDMania. that should really help us to get the project going. to work around some of Paypal's limitation, we may have a few trusted people collecting money the spread the payments out. Also, we are thinking about doing something special for the adopted parents. Something that is only available to our adopted parents and is not available anyway else or any time in the future. Yes, the keyboards were made by Cherry.

Can anyone fill me in on what makes the Dolch keyboards so valuable/rare? Is it that they have Cherry Doubleshots?

Also, should this thread be closed now that all the keys have been adopted again? Just wondering.

People love Dolch keycaps for their thickness, color scheme, and legends. They are valuable because they are rare.

We should definitely not close this thread, since mo money has been collected yet.

I've been preoccupied with the moogle3 and red cherry group buys. The Dolch set is still happening, don't worry. We are still in the lengthy prototyping process and are trying to figure out how best to collect payments.

Look for a progress report thread soon showing the status of each legend and the prototyping efforts.

That's why we're doing extensive prototyping beforehand. Which is also part of why it is taking a long time. I sent off some new SVGs to Melissa last week for prototyping. Based on how those turn out, we'll likely get the rest of the legends cut in one batch. Then we'll get a full prototype set done. Somewhere in there we'll start the Dolch replica group buy.

Melissa told me today that we should be able to do the number row in variable-width outline format, rather than the uniform-width centerline style that the moogle keys are done in. That means more detail and a better match to real Cherry keys!

The first set will be standard white on greys Dolch replica. I don't think it makes sense to split the orders between white and orange. After that, the floodgates are opened to whatever interesting things you guys come up with.

the first set will be dolch replicas. the second set will probably be something secret we've been cooking up. we're going to try to make these orders move as quickly as possible. this may mean limited runs.

Alright thanks for the honesty 'kawa. I really hope we can get a chance at OrangeNGraphite replicas... seems like demand is there based on another thread. But I can wait! I still have the exocet (Sanctuary) caps to worry about.
