My humble collection
« on: Thu, 10 January 2013, 17:02:45 »
KBC Poker:

Switches: Stickered, Lubed with SuperLube, 55g Ergo Clear except for the spacebar
Caps: White on Black Cherry Doubleshots
Cable: MiMiC 1.5' Dark Stainless Steel
Notable features: Costar Stabilizers, Custom Stainless Steel Plate, Titanium Spacebar

---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------

IBM SSK:

Switches: Buckling Spring
Caps: Gray Blanks
Cable: MiMiC 5' Silver Silica SDL
Notable features: RGB modifiers, CC ESC

---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------

WASD V1:

Switches: Stock Browns
Caps: CC&G
Cable: Stock
Notable features: Titanium Spacebar

---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------

G80-3700:

Switches: Stock Blacks (feels extremely smooth)
Caps: Black on Beige Cherry Doubleshots
Cable: Stock PS/2
Notable features: None
In the future: Thinking of stickering and lubing, maybe a custom plate as well

---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I finally got some time to photograph my small, but much loved collection of keyboards (and not with a potato).

Anyways, I expect this collection to change with the GH60, Phantom and maybe the ergo-dox. I also have a fullsized model M that I'm planning on turning into a 60% and a Rosewill with reds that will be donating switches to the upcoming GH60 and Phantom.

My favorite:
1. KBC Poker
2. IBM SSK
3. G80-3700
4. WASD V1

Any questions, feel free to ask ^___^

Maybe I should do one of these fancy threads soon.  I'm hurt that you didn't have the gift I slaved over a hot internet browser for 5 hours on for you on your SSK.

Looking good son

Thanks

Everytime I see a Poker with all the custom mods that GH had, it makes me want one so much more. And nice to see you have a full size as well haha. Nice pics and boards

Before the mods (and my ssk), the WASD was by far my favorite board (I've also had a rosewill with red and another with blues). But I don't think stickers do a whole lot, lubing does make a noticeable difference. But the single best mod I did to my poker was the plate. It feels about as solid as the SSK

A very reasonable and attractive collection, Beast.  :thumb:

Thanks

Nice collection.  You just need to add 1 Korean custom to that and you're all set!  :)

I've been non-actively looking for one because I'm really happy with what I have now. Then again, with someone working on a alum case for the Phantom, and myself working on a alum case for the GH60, I may not want/need a Korean board after all

Looking good beast! Needs more wood though :p

I have a really nice cherry rest for the poker and a super nice maple rest for the WASD, but I don't use them because the desk at school is soo small (which is a second reason why I'm loving my poker) and I tend to float above keyboard anyways so I don't really need one.

Nice collection Beast, need more TKL! :p

The SSK was my first TKL lol

Nice boards! That Titanium spacebar looks epic with the CCnG.   :p

All I need is a Ti spacebar for the SSK and I'll be a very happy man

Maybe I should do one of these fancy threads soon.  I'm hurt that you didn't have the gift I slaved over a hot internet browser for 5 hours on for you on your SSK.

I use them, just not with the gray blanks I currently have on. When I do go back to stock, I'll put them on for sure. Along with orange WASD keys and blue arrow keys to make it a trashy SSK lol

That's a sweet collection of pretty boards =D. And your list of keyboards that you will get isn't half bad either ;) . Really can't wait to get my hands on a GH60 myself as the 60 layout is my favorite for most uses. I only wish caps lock could be changed to FN on the Poker. That would really help with the few instances I need to use F-row one handed.

Now gimmeh that ssk plx ;) .

Yup, I'd much rather have a few nice boards that I really like, than a ton of boards that I don't really like.

That's a very nice poker.

How do you like the titanium space bar? (the feel/weight of it, any type of wearing?)
Is it similar to an aluminum space bar in these terms?

I don't have an alum spacebar to compare, but I really love my Ti spacebars. I would definitely invest in one or twelve

https://www.dropbox.com/s/3wfvat9bdcerwnd/Disable%20Capslock.ahk

Download those two scripts and run the "Disable Capslock" one first. Then add whatever macros you want to the "Caps Lock Fn Layer" layer one. Currently, it's just number row = Function row and some media keys. Making the script your own should be really simple.

I am getting an error after loading the Fn Layer ahk though. I get it every time I hit the caps lock. And since I have never touched this before I can't really see what's wrong.
Any tips? I'll move this to PM on request btw.

Man I love that colour scheme on that WASD keyboard. Where did you get the set from?

It's called "Cream cheese and green" or CC&G for short. There was a GB for it a while ago but you see them pop up in the for sale section every once and a while
