I'm liking this a lot! Sucker for dark themes and the light blue shade is very nice.
However, I've got this nagging feeling I have too many GMK sets... Hopefully it goes away soon :D
Is there a reason you wouldn't just do N9 and N5? Seems really similar to the pantones you've chosen.
Also, why use "Num lock", 2 line, when you also use one lines such as "Print", "Lock", "Pause"? I'd change to "Num".
In addition, because you're using icon mods and (hopefully) one line modifiers, I'd also change the icon for divide and multiply on the numpad to the alternate versions.
Edit: also, why did you include a third 1u ISO key? Since you omitted the numrow, it makes no sense. :) Just remove one of the additional iso specific keys to save on the base cost.
It's fine that it's not N9, but a lot of us have a set with that color. Any way to show the two next to each other? (Does N9 have an approximate Pantone?)
love the atomic key
Quiet similar the stock keycaps of certain Leopold PD keyboards
Then again, these are PBT Double-shot (better IMO, but harder to produce) and not readily available.Show Image(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190605/4f7bdf434e2808d30443d07d315670df.jpg)
I like the simplicity of the color way and that you stuck to 2 colors.
GMK works in RAL colors. When you move to samples I recommend ordering a few candidate RAL chips - https://usa.ral-shop.com/product/ral-p1-sample/
I told Moridin to consider this. Since this year is 350 anniversary of discovery phosphorus by Hennig Brand in 1669 why not commemorate it (the first element to be discovered that was not known since ancient times). I added 1669 by his initials. Maybe even make H and B blue like "P"
Super nice colorway!

Re 1: I wanted to be as close to RAMA's Cool Gray 10 C and the phosphor filled enamel as possible.
Re 2: Noted.
Re 3: Which key are you referring to exactly? It's probably staring me in the face, but I am apparently blind.

Personal preference i know, but those single line "lock", "print" ect are the reason i ended up selling some of my sets, way uglier than the og way of doing it imo
I like the "one word" versions on the 1u keys. But the Caps Lock key might need something more than just "Lock", it looks kind of bare that way.
Would be wild to get a kit with periodic table caps for each letter that has one

The reason I (and presumably others) like it is because it looks cleaner and therefore I prefer it with icon mod sets. If there are no icon mods, I don't care for it either. Also, it looks cleaner with numpads that don't use sublegends. Aesthetically I see no reason to mix clean elements of a set with cluttered ones.
So for sets with text+icon mods, go for sublegends on the numpad and two line 1u mods, imo anyway.
In any case, mixing both like this set does is a sin in my books. Even if he won't use 'num', at least change the rest lol. Inconsistencies are my biggest gripe.
hey, nice set, I'm intrigued.
the 40s kit has a 1.5u return key but its depicted as a 1.25u key (I'm being lazy and not checking if its been mentioned until now).
Either way, having 2x1.25u r3 keys makes this a very attractive kit for me (and other Katana60 owners...
Feels appropriate that we get a Rama cap with this one. Hoping for Moon Gray with blue enamel infil, possibly the periodic table design, although might look a little odd having something that's basically an alpha in the Esc position... I'm sure some awesome ideas for it, can't wait to see more!
I personally like as much text as possible (i.e. Control over Ctrl, Caps Lock over Lock), but everything has to be in one line, as per Emir suggested!
love the P Novelty Key! Is there a set with all Elements instead of Alphas?
love the P Novelty Key! Is there a set with all Elements instead of Alphas?
No, sadly. It would probably cost a fortune.
It would be prohibitively expensive if someone tried to do it as a doubleshot set from GMK because of all the new molds required, but it would be feasible to do it as a dyesub set.
Awesome work!
With NorDe kit and blue arrow keys this will be the perfect set.

As you may have noticed, Abec13 rendered accented arrows in a few of his renders, despite this not being part of the my vision of GMK Phosphorous. I know some of you have suggested adding them so at this point, I am really tempted to do so.
Here are my ideas:
1. Add to Core, change nothing else.
2. Add to Spacebars, since there's an accented Spacebar in there too.
3. Add to Core, move ISO keys to NumPad, expand ISO with more keys (only 16% of total potential buyers are currently interested in the NumPad kit) this would help NumPad reach MOQ.
I'd love some feedback.

I really like how the accented arrows came out, I really love this set(favorite color is blue and you chose a beautiful one) so any way to see that added is a plus.
Option 1, 2 or 3 works for me as I will be buying core, numpad and spacebars anyways. But option 1 or 3 makes the most sense to me personally.
And is there an estimated timeframe when you would look to run this set? After seeing the renders I want it yesterday...
accent color arrow keys, please :)
Maybe a cyan colored arrow kit as an alt color scheme to give a little more pop?
Using stock colors N9/N5/ might help lower the price and allow easier mix'n'matching by people who already have N9 sets. Not sure how close N9 is to your base color however.
Ergodox kit!!!! Please. Would be so awesome to not have to cobble one together from the base kit.
How about a sweet deskmat?
Rama key with that palette would be amazing.
Ne Rama cap avail... :P
A potential RAMA novelty would be sick!
Colevrak pls T_T
Colemak kit pleeeeeeease!!!!! <3333333333333
1.25u and 1.5u keys in 40% set to make it work alone for non ortho boards
in for nordeuk kit! :thumb:
really digging the color choice. So many great keycaps and this is truly one of them.
Sorry if my words seem harsh, but if you're not using GMK stock colours in this very specific set, you are falling into designer's ego trap; raising the MOQ in the most unnecessary way possible and risking failing the entire GB.

With how good this set looks, I don't see you having any issues hitting 250 moq at all.
I received the following suggestion:Quote1.25u and 1.5u keys in 40% set to make it work alone for non ortho boards
Would love some feedback from 40% users on this.
Do you not have to get the core for alphas anyway?I received the following suggestion:Quote1.25u and 1.5u keys in 40% set to make it work alone for non ortho boards
Would love some feedback from 40% users on this.
The 40% kit has no Alt or Ctrl keys included. Neither in 1u, 1.25 or 1.50. So for a full set of modifiers you are forced to get the Core for these keys. So it is the same problem both for ortho and none ortho 40%s, as both can not use the 40 kit without Core. But I guess this is intentional
now that we have accented arrow keys in core, can we please have accented spacebars in core as well?
I really do struggle to keep myself together with my boundless excitement as I see real progress on this kit.
With my responses to your second IC, I did mention the creation of an Ergodox/Boardwalk kit as a stretch goal. It would be nice. The core kits are already extremely nice and I wouldn't want anything superfluous to create unnecessary risks. Like I said, it's a stretch goal.
With regards to a deskmat, I'd love to see some hexagons and some Iron Man ****. However you interpret that, I'm sure it'll be great! :p
You've already got a Core, Ortho and Spacebar buyer here.
Keep it up mate!
I think you should give an ergo kit a shot. Just a stand-alone kit with the mods only. No need to put alphas in. It'll be more beneficial to boardwalk folks this way and be easier to reach MOQ

We would be up to 6 kits then! 😮😮😮

Hey guys, I was supposed to get all the suggestions sorted today but were having a heat spell (over 30°C when it should be 20-25°) so its hard to focus on anything.
Working on packaging and deskmat ideas in the meantime.
Was 34°C yesterday. In the shade. 😝
Was 34°C yesterday. In the shade. 😝
I am in Texas, that is 100% normal to me(along with high humidity), lol.
We dont have AC in flats, houses, and apartments, for the most part. Average temp should be around 23-25°C at this time of year. Its probably 45°C inside my apartment around noon already, what with it facing the sun.

Thanks for all the comments in the IC form those are invaluable. My biggest regret is NorDEUK because there are currently 7 (seven) people who have declared their intent to purchase it and we would need at least 40, to buy out to an MOQ of 50... 😞

This is a must for me
I think accent arrows/spacebars should go in spacebar kit. Getting a cheap base is a very important part for getting people into the GB imo.
And the custom colors/250 min does not seem like it is an issue in the current climate. With recent hyped sets blowing by 1000 units, it doesn't seem like getting up to MOQ is as big of an issue any more.
Although I suppose it's possible to use the R1 Delete key it might be nice to include a R1 backspace key for boards like Preonic and Iris.
Worried about the timing if this comes out too soon since IMO there's overlap between set and other dark themed sets. GMK Oblivion, Dracula, Dots, etc. Also, maybe overkill since you already have a U80 render but would love to see a Moon KOYU render (which is what I got).
maybe sell 60% as a 60% kit, tkl as tkl kit kinda thing?
add a 60% option
ANSI 60%
A 40s kit with Alphas :(
4x12 nordic ortho layout
Coleman mod dh support please
Prefer Numpad to be in Core Kit.
Numpad should be part of the base kit.
On 1,5u «Alt Gr» key in NorDeUK kit please spell out the full «Alt Graph».
Try to keep core to just what is needed to ensure more sales/better bulk pricing.
Only think I could suggest is strictly a stretch goal of a ergodox/boardwalk kit. Big stretch. Already very happy with the progress of this kit!
Ergo
Please add 1.5u "Code" or "novelty" keycaps
Adding a separate set of teal on white alphas. Keyforge artisan collab.
Add an option for the teal spacebar in the core kit.
Tilde/Grave key in R4 would be cool, albeit a pretty uncommon legend placement.
Some kind of Novelty set would be nice, or a artisan knob for the Satisfaction75 (or any other encoder)
More icon modifiers
icons and text modifiers if possible please :)
Accented split space in 40s kit
DZ60RGB PCB
Something to do with light or something good.
I love that packaging!
Hexagons, check!
Electron diagram, check!
Keep up the great work!
I really like this kit, excellent work.
I have spent many hours over the past week, working on various bandolier designs for the final packaging (some of which you may have seen over in the Discord channel, but only a few). Anyway, I think I'm close to completing this part of the project. Which do you like more? Left or right?

I'm very impressed with how this kit is coming together.
I understand you are waiting to hear back from GMK on quotes, but do you have any ideas when this group buy will be run? I'd like to make a note of it and try to fit it in among all the other purchases.
Deskmats, anyone?
(Excuse the quick and crappy render.)

I have to say, Mordrin, this is probably the best looking kit I've seen to date. It's honestly what convinced me to knuckle down and commit to my first full-custom build. The palette coordination and character aesthetic are top notch.

Gok101, the designer of the 7V 75% keyboard (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=100896.0) created a render with GMK Phosphorous.
Im in for both (if the 7Vs price doesnt kill me!).
Kate from RAMA sent me her artisan keycap design for GMK Phosphorous!
Specs
- R1 Cherry profile (e.g. ESC)
- anodised aluminium
- phosphor enamel fill (it will glow in the dark)

The renders show how it will approximately look during the day and how it will glow in darkness.

Beautiful set. Is this still on course for a Sept GB?
Oh wow, just found this. Reminds me of GMK Pulse, except that I like this one better! Want to jump in for a base + NorDeUK.
I see there's been some worry about whether NorDeUK hits MOQ. I've only been in a couple of GBs; what exactly happens if it doesn't hit MOQ, can I cancel my base kit order? Without a NorDeUK kit I would be a lot less interested tbh.
I really want this for the Koyu board I just received. Any chance you could add a Dvorak kit?
I'm switching my bankrupt plan :)
Love the set and the P novelty. Nice touch

Ah, seems somewhat steep for a largely mono-color, numpad-less set. Gmk striker for eg was 100usd.
Guessing the issue lies w the custom colors?
I think this'll actually end up being the first GMK set I buy.

Could you try to get a quote for NorDEUK with MOQ of 50? I don't know if 100 is achievable for NorDEUK kit, if it is not Oblivion ;).
Came back to this page on my mobile and i noticed that the colors look different... Kinda greenish, whereas it looks blue on my computer screen. Darn these poorly calibrated screens!
Moridin, in your vision, are the accents blue... Or more teal?
I'd like to point out a minor problem in the core and Nordeuk kits regarding ISO support.
As the kits stand now, UK ISO is supposed to be part of Nordeuk, but the R3 keys '@ #~ (used exclusively by the UK English national layout) are in the core kit. Those two keys should be moved to the Nordeuk kit, and replaced in the core kit by a single R3 \| key, to offer complete US ISO support (the R4 \| key is used both in the US English layout and the UK English layout, and therefore should remain in the core kit).

There seems to be two identical keys in NorDeUk kit for "` \ ΄" (on third R1 row). Maybe on was supposed to be "` ΄ |" for DK-layout?
I'm loving the look of this set it looks amazing, would go well with the upcoming key 65
Damn, this looks sweet! And I promise Ill do my best to get in on this set, since Im one of those people always wanting NorDeUk kits :)
Lookin' good, Moridin! :thumb:
Any chance of getting renders of a white/e-white/very light keyboard? Would love to see how it would work on the e-white Polaris Im buying soon. Those latest renders look phenomenal though.

By the way, any chance you could add R1 1u Backspace to the 40s/Ortho kit for full Preonic support?
I also enjoy accented Enter keys on my ortho boards, but I realize there are way too many Enters in the kit to make this feasible.
By the way, any chance you could add R1 1u Backspace to the 40s/Ortho kit for full Preonic support?
Too late for that sorry.
(I guess my question isn't specific to this set.) Are stepped Caps Lock keys in these GMK sets generally centre-stem or off-centre?
There were some centered-stem stepped caps lock made by SP. I have not seen any in years though. I even think that I had one at some point. I should put it in something that I sold already.(I guess my question isn't specific to this set.) Are stepped Caps Lock keys in these GMK sets generally centre-stem or off-centre?
I dont believe Ive seen a centre-stem stepped Caps Lock... so off-centre. Perhaps there are exceptions.
This set looks really clean! Looking forward to joining the GB.
I love the P. It is like an artisan cap that has its own dedicated spot in every layout. I also like that it features a Norde-UK kit, that I personally need.
I need both the base and the Norde kits. If I order both and the Norde does not reach MoQ, could I cancel the order for the base? Just wondering.
Noticed there is a ("') key in the 40's kit - Quarks. Why? That key is already n the base kit.
I'd love to see that key removed since 40's users don't need an extra one, and it replaced with a r3, 1u Ctrl key instead. Thanks!

Nobody noticed this before the set was priced by GMK. Removing the key and getting new prices (paid option) would be more expensive by probably around 10 USD per base set than just leaving the key in.

Since you are not adding or removing a key nor are you asking GMK to add molds, I don't think you even have to ask for a new quote. Just ask GMK if you can change out the '" key to a 1u, r3 Ctrl key instead. There shouldn't be a price difference.
I doubt I'll be purchasing if you don't even at least ask GMK if that's possible.

Missed the part about the R3 CTRL - this site is not smartphone friendly. Thats a rather unique key? What keyboard are you using it on?
I'm really liking the look of this. Any plans to have samples made? I'm curious how the blue will turn out.

If we chose to do samples (still on the fence about this) they would come from GMK after GB closes.

If you're going to let GMK match custom colors against Pantones and go into production without approving color samples, that's definitely something I'd want to know before placing an order.
Waiting to hear back on their timelines etc. If it's not anything insane, I'll go for it. I'm worried it's insane though, especially looking back at the past few months and seeing how long they took to get back to me with the simplest questions.

I get that you're getting antsy by now. However, it would be a shame if you let it make you rush and fumble this great project on the final lap of the IC.

OK that's a good point and I completely agree. Thanks for the motivation. I'll weather it out. Question is: will everyone else? :D
(P.S. I'm already working on my next set and it's going to be killer!)

GMK will send color samples before the GB as long as the invoice is paid within 6 months of the samples reception.
Gonna have to back out sadly. Not asking for color samples is a big red flag and the omission of the key I asked for earlier is icing on the cake.

I think most people would rather wait longer for the set they paid for, rather than risking getting something different to what they expected.
Delays are usually understood by the community provided adequate communication and explanation.
On the other hand, sets that have failed to match what they promised often reach infamy.
It's going to be a nope from me dawg, going into production before seeing actual samples is very very very risky. Dang, I really want get this set D:
