Oh yeah! I forgot - I zinc electroplated the bare metal area for the ground wire too. ^_^
(And a lot of Nirvana was played for the grunge factor.)

That's an amazing transformation!  6 times!!

I especially like the yellow one :D

But they are all fantastic!

Magnificent dedication to preserving the SSK :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Awesome work  :thumb:

These + unicomps new colored legend keycaps would be awesome. I have been wanting to get a model f and do this for a while, maybe once I finish my kishsaver.

Thanks everybody!
I almost don't want my little orphans leave the nest... :P

I've been contemplating those keycaps. I think I'm going to place an order soon and play around with 'em.
(Also really want to pick up a brand new Unicomp board so I can tear it apart and see what they're doing nowadays... :D)

Wow I didn't realize how bad they really were when you got them...nice job :D.

Yeeeeah, they were rather nasty little things. I still have a few in similar condition, but these were by far the worst. I was so excited the first time I gently opened them. I didn't even want to disturb the filth until I had photos. :P

A+++. Will these be for sale on your website anytime soon?

Thanks! And yup! Well, unless they sell before I get a chance to actually put them up officially. There's technically just two left at the moment (yellow and green) and the orange is sort of pending at the moment.

So if you want one, claim it before someone else does. :P

Man, those look fantastic.  Glad I didn't catch that purple one sooner or I'd be out some cash.
