The design has very wide appeal and they're exceptionally well made.

Aside from the stellar quality of the caps themselves, they are a very clean design that is symmetric and fits the golden rule principle as Clickclack's skull design does as well. I think in general the kind of people who are attracted to hobbies such as mechanical keyboards are also keen on formation and symmetry, which may explain why Clacks and Brobots are more popular than the handcrafted caps you see out there. The subject/model also has wide appeal. I.E. people unconsciously identify with a humanoid face as a inanimate structure.

Also CC Skulls and BroBots are mostly flat on top, and thus can actually be used on a keyboard, in contradistinction to many hand-crafted keycaps that have a much taller profile and/or non-flat surface, making them less attractive for use (as opposed to for display purposes).

Those are good looking caps. I have not seen very many V1s and have never seen one in person. I really like the trans V1 caps. It makes all the 3D stuff look great.

I need to find some V1 trans caps to match my summer set. Do they even exist?

I think this solid pink v2 (cotton candy) still looks the best on this board (until I have the metallic blue). Kirkle's Essence is nice and so is my soul of course, but it just looks so much more pleasing when it's all solid.

The shade of the pink in real life is just a tad bit too light for me to call it a perfect contrast, but it's pretty close.
