@bugerwork,

As the BBOX60 case is running with multiple keysets and as a standalone both the case + stand, does there exist a sample or prototype?
Maybe just in another form regarding how the ABS plastic will be like ? The case concept is super neat :thumb:

Thanks! BTW I feel like the colors are a bit off. Maybe its a regional thing? I think my 64 has darker keys with white/offwhite legends.
Keys on the C64 came in multiple revisions throughout the years. This keyset is a mix, using a font inspired by early C64s but colour scheme and legend placement more inspired by the later C64C.

No legend is a perfect match to any original C64. On the original keyboards, only function keys have lower-case legends. And some examples of the C64 used the same keyboards as VIC-20's with a wide font reminiscent of Microgramma. (Then there's the SX-64 which is different altogether)

I like it! But I think that because the key set is so different from any actual C64, calling is "C64" would be misleading. It should have a new name.

I actually owned a C64 and learned basic on it. This hits me right smack dab in the feelz.

I love the idea and the design.

Are drawing symbols on the fronts dyesubbed or pad printed?

Could you add text Code/System keycaps too beside the Windows icons?
I currently don't think it necessary.

Given that the regular C64 has dark brown keycaps and beige caps were first introduced for the Golden Edition, shouldn't the Bbox case be gold?

Show Image

I actually agree with some previous comments, cool to see new CRP but the "inspiration" isn't clear enough to call this a C64 set.
Thank you for your suggestion, it's great, but first of all, this is not a complete imitation. I hope the symbols from the past have a brand new feel, but if this design is not called C64, I don't know what to call it?

May I ask if the beige matches previous CRP sets? I am a huge fan of CRP and this seems like a chance to upgrade my sets with the split spacebar kit (in addition to getting this set)  :p

It's not the same, this is another kind of retro, ... also my original intention for the design.

this is everything I love to see in a key set.

40's/Ortho compatibility could be a lot better but im not sure what Hammerworks tooling allows for.

Supporting this through the end!

My very first computer as a child was the C64 breadbin in 1982.  I loved it and used it for a very long time before moving to the Amiga.  I love this set, give it the time and attention to detail that it deserves.  I will buy all sets.  I have already bought your other sets from last month and thought they were very cool.

What's wrong with Drop?  I've ordered 1,000, give or take, worth or product just this year from them, and never had an issue.  Yes, there were problems during the outbreak of Covid-19, but considering that they operate off one of smallest staffs in the official capacity, it's hard to blame them for lost packages when people neglected to stay on top of their complaint forms or don't inform them that have moved until after they have moved.  I've had nothing but wonderful costumer service out of them.

Let's not try an justify lost packages and extremely poor customer service... that's not a good look. Your experience clearly falls in the minority. You can tell this FACT, just by looking at the comments section on majority of the products they advertise... I myself have had several poor experiences with them before throwing in the towel.

You are right, so can you do me a favor? Looking for a more accurate name?
How about "VIC II"? That is the name of the video chip in the C64, and thus associated to it.

Thank you, but I don't think this is a good name. As a new retro, it seems difficult to spread.

This is the structural sample of bbox, not the final texture. At present, the development is very smooth. Many people care about the sound. However, the fixation of the sample and PCB is still being modified, so it cannot be tested. If there is a new trend, it will be updated.

Very nice retro feels. Had a C64 too when i was a kid (the bread box, with dark keycaps). Makes a good excuse to grab a CRP set, never tried one before.
