One footnote, the R3 1u blanks will be NN/NN doubleshot of the R3 Numpad period, per Maxkey there is a possibility of seeing small outline where the character would be, so I picked the smallest surface area character, the period, to minimize it.
The R4 1u Blank will be of the R4 Page Down, as it's the only 1u R4 mold to use.

I'm not thrilled about it either, they have told me they are looking for a possible solution.

No chance for the novelties? Those kind of sold me in the IC. 

I wanted one or two as well, however as low as the Maxkey prices are compared to an SP SA set, the complete opposite is true of novelty costs.
Adding a single novelty would have increased the price by over 10% of the set's cost, and that only counts for a single width and profile so if you wanted an R1 and an R3 key that would have been two novelty charges.

I mean its not "only $6". To the individual person maybe, but as a group its much more. If the MOQ hits 100 thats $6 from everyone which means zfrontier is keeping $600. Thats a good chunk of change.  I saw a doctor once that posted up "funny" checks he had received from insurance companies, these were check he got that for only a couple cents here and there. Literally one check for $00.01 . And yea it doesnt seem like a lot, but how many tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people do they send those checks to?

For you it seems like nothing, but when you pool it all together its a lot of money they get to keep if people dont cash them. And thats what theyre banking on. They want you to get those refund points, laugh it off as a few bucks, and then never proceed to use it.

Just out of curiosity, how much do they want for a novelty? All the cost had to be in creating the legend I assume.

Maxkey does not have molds for those. There are 3 R3 1u blanks however, to fill that capacity.

I agree the IC thread was short lived, but you can't compare anything with Carbon. Demands for that set o isus going to be outrageous because everyone had seen it and they now want it. That's what happens when you have over a year between offerings.

I guess maxkey is looking for a roi on their molds, etc but they would be better off just cranking out a set quickly rather than doing tons of small GB with numerous vendors. I bought max ashen and am debating on this, but I'd really like to see how the first kit turns out. If they can show that they are valuable of high quality and have fixed the kerning issues then I believe everything they do will be more successful. People are in a wait and see pattern. $75 for max was worth it to see what I get, but I'm not buying three sets before I can sample the first one.

I like this set but I personally have yet to get any Maxkey sets in hand (I have two on order). I'd really like to see what they are like in person before I keep buying more. In addition, sets have been coming out left and right lately so I think people are having to choose between sets.

This is exactly my situation as well. $75-80 was fine to invest to try them out, but I'm not buying 3 or 4 sets before I've seen the quality of the kits firsthand.

Given the big spike the last 2 days hopefully we've reached that point where if they really want to see it happen it will. We'll probably reach MOQ even without there help, but if we don't I can't imagine we will miss it by more than a few sets...
