So, as mentioned in the original IC thread:
  • There is an additional (not shown) 1u 'Fn' key in the TKL + Specialty kit, the render will be updated eventually
  • We may re-add the teal '=' to the Numpad kit (depending on price and order quantity)
These are very minor changes that should not be deal-breakers for anyone. No other change to the kits will be made.

About the proxies: it will a couple of days until our Europe (mykeyboard.eu) and Asia (zFrontier) proxies are up. Very sorry about that!

Please feel free to ask any question about compatibility for your particular keyboard or anything else, eg. issues with your vendor, etc.

Cheers!

Asking again, sorry if it’s obvious. What kit(s) are pictured with the prime_e? I know it’s not in existence yet but I wanted to check if I’d have it covered lol.

Hey!

For the Prime_E (as pictured) you need the following kits:
  • Alphas
  • Ortho + 40%
  • Novelties

Exciting, this might be my first custom keycap set and first GB. Also waiting for the EU website.

Is there a fixed stock count on these, or will whatever gets ordered until May 10th get produced and shipped? (provided it meets MOQ, I assume?)

It is the latter. Whatever is ordered is what is produced so long as it reaches MOQ. So it’s not a rush but the earlier you get your order in the easier it is to determine what will reach MOQ.

You’ve picked a damn fine GB to join for your first one!

Same here on both accounts (first DSA and first GB) - this set is just too nice to pass up, that teal colour is pure magic. Hope we hit MOQ!

Thanks! Not sure how I missed them in the TLK. Wish the M0110 didn’t have such odd sized mods but I think I can make this work. Will just have two enters instead of two shifts.

Sorry about that. The reason why we added the Fn key (and maybe '=') is because they were removed by mistake.

There's no dark '|\' key because it's not part of the default Planck layout (on which the ortho kit is based). That's just where I drew the line. Also, no one suggested it during the IC. In hindsight, maybe I would include it.

Like I said, one 1u is not much, but if we add another, and another... it quickly gets out of hand.

There is a grey 1u '|\' hiding in the alphas, in case you hadn't noticed. And if you realllly need a dark one, then there's always the ISO kit :( It's not impossible that someone who doesn't need theirs can sell it to you.

Thanks. Totally understandable. I have noticed this is often the missing key, so I guess my layout is exceptional. I would expect users of a Preonic users or any split with thumb keys to put the pipe key there. No matter, I can maybe buy it of someone else or just put a novelty there.

Right, I did the calculation and it would come about the same price ordering from the US and paying import fees and tax.

It just makes me wonder what the advantage of a proxy is in that case.

Probably reduces and simplifies customs fees. I’m definitely more comfortable buying from a EU proxy, especially if the price is essentially the same.

Definitely.

I'm looking into it with TKC. But...

From my experience with the Canadian proxy, if I were to charge in Canadian dollars, then the price goes up 3% automatically. Beyond a certain order quantity, I would have to charge 10% more in taxes. Shipping from the manufacturer to Canada is also more expensive (let alone Europe); since we sell fewer kits, I have to take that penalty. In this case, Canadian buyers save on shipping, taxes and duties.

However, a full-fledged business has to charge full taxes (in Canada, at least). Prices listed on mykeyboard.eu include VAT. There is also duties and handling fees related to importing.

If the price is roughly the same as buying directly, then you win because 1. you get more reliable shipping (imagine 50+ packages crossing the ocean, versus one). Your local proxy has access to and is more familiar with the local carriers. 2. Service at proximity is always preferable in case anything goes wrong. Not to mention that our EU and Asia proxies are reputable businesses used to this kind of thing.

I would expect a smoother experience, overall.

Last info I got from TKC/zFrontier is they are setting things up and should open this Friday or Saturday. That's a 3 week window until GB close.

Although I would recommend ordering from your nearest vendor, I asked TKC and they are able to fulfill international orders.
