I could imagine... In order to do that they'd have to redesign the PCB, retest it, and also redesign a custom plate as well. No way in hell I would imagine Rama would want to go through something like that. That being said I don't know how much can I compensate the 1U thing for the design though but damn I sincerely hate the abomination of split backspace. I bet whoever came up with 1U shift and 1U backspace layout had no idea they just released a plague to mechanical keyboards :)) :))

If you really want a 1u R1 backspace keycap, you'll often find it in any keyset that has a Planck kit or similar.

To me, the biggest change on a HHKB is the backspace. I think the design is great, but I just don't want to get used to it because there is no going back like you said. I do and often time need to go back when using other keyboards and laptops. That's why I want the Koyu (and bought the Doro67) because I've decided I don't want HHKB layout (I just bought 3 HHKBs BTW).
It would be nice to have keycaps available to try both backspace setup on the Koyu. Most GMK base kits come with the R1 1u 'Del' key, but not 'BS'. But the new Matt3o MT3 Susuwatari (awesome with the Koyu Race), the base kit comes with the R1 1u 'BS' instead. So I guess we can't have it both ways without paying for extra kits.
Or just put a blank or whatever on it. Problem solved. ;)
Oh yes, KingRAMA, I have been drooling over your Koyu for a long time... what would it take to add a reversed Haze option? I guess no opening that can of worms?

Hey! We can definitely add on the Tank base to the listing - however it's beadblasted PVD as opposed to hand mirror-polished (as the grooves on the back would be very intensive to polish). The Tank Lite Aluminium bottom is the same as the Moon Aluminium bottom. The mirror finish / PVD coating is very susceptible to fingerprints - chuck it on a plinth and encase it in a perspex box! Past that, I hope someone goes at the edges of the TANK with sand paper to give it a brassing effect akin to the Leica cameras and their black veiled brass :o

I went with Kuro to keep colors neutral in case I switch up key caps in the future. I almost went with sage as dark green is my favorite color, although, while the base is a dark enough green, the top seemed to be a lighter shade of green.

Are there any plans to allow this type of mix match? I realize there is probably a cost / hassle reason from a production side that makes this less feasible.

Thanks mate, glad you like it! And yes, unfortunately so :( We have to be quite selective with our offerings as much as we'd love to offer every colour possible it would become a nightmare to manage :( And custom colours require an entire batch of custom anodisation baths to be setup (which take up an entire room)

Kuro is a great choice, that'll look awesome - I'll get a render with metaverse when I have some spare time :D The top/base are the exact same shade of green, it's just the lighting which is making it appear that way :)

This is kind of my dream board, so I'm definitely in for one... maybe 2.
However, to be completely honest, I prefer the m65 way the user could select and build their own color combinations -- I'd love a solid purple or gold Koyu. Are there any plans to allow this type of mix match? I realize there is probably a cost / hassle reason from a production side that makes this less feasible.
That being said, I'm really excited about Koyu. Thanks for consistently making great products.

And yes, unfortunately so :( We have to be quite selective with our offerings as much as we'd love to offer every colour possible it would become a nightmare to manage :( And custom colours require an entire batch of custom anodisation baths to be setup (which take up an entire room)

After seeing the m60 dusk photos, it looks stunning. Was it because of low interest hence no dusk for the Koyu? Any chance of squeezing that in?Definitely does look stunning! Yeah, we replaced the two bottom-most orders colours with new ones to freshen things up a bit. Unfortunately no chance to squeeze it in, things start to get crazy when you offer too many combos :( Hope that makes sense! We do love seeing people stripping down the anodising and modding the enclosures themselves (cerakote/powdercoat too), always awesome to see things made their own!

Totally agree. The more the haze gold color is light and dusty, and less mustard-y, the better! I've already preordered Haze, so if the real life proto looks good I'll probably order a second (red) base to go with GMK Red Samurai.

For Mac on this layout, it would be Control (1.5u), Alt (1u), Super (1.5u), Space bar (7u), Fn (1.5u). One could use the right most 1.5u for another Super as well.
I use all the OS's, but for work I generally use Mac, which is common among developers and designers.
The layout isn't the worst, but it's awkward enough for me to second guess buying 2 of them.

On the tank, what kind of PVD coating are you using? If you aren't using DLC, have you considered it for the scratch resistance? Just curious about how concerned we should be about scratches/scuffs appearing on the finish.
Hey Taco! We've experimented with DLC in the past on some our other products and it is an incredibly awesome coating - but only really comes in a deep black colour whereas for this version we wanted to do our Moon colourway. As for scratches/scuffs with this TANK edition, we're still going through samples to see which level hardness we want to go with the PVD - but with increased strength comes cost. We've measured our current PVD offerings at a Mohs' hardness of 5 which means most household items won't scratch it (unless considerable force is applied) - hope that's answered the questions!
Went in for the Haze, this is now officially my most expensive kit. Looking forward to seeing the samples and can't wait to get the board next year!
Excited to show more of it! It's a board which will last, am excited to get to manufacturing and get these out to everyone <3

You would generally be looking for the M65-A then. Due to the limitations of the PCB it cannot be changed from split backspace. It is unfortunate, but I believe a design decision to follow similar aesthetics to the M60-A.
There are quite a number of M65-As aftermarket that you can buy. I prefer a regular backspace myself but am willing to give split a try because I love this board too much!

The inset looks quite a deep blue/navy-ish purple which is more than fine by me, goes really nicely with the gold (in fact I prefer it to the renders which I thought were more purpley purple).

The DHL was delivered to the place of destination, but the service I use for delivery from the USA to Ukraine did not register the parcel on time, 21.11, but after the holidays they can’t find it... I try as much as I can to get a solution to this problem from them, but I am afraid that in the end I can remain without a keyboard. That would be a big disappointment for me, of course. But I still hope that everything will be fine.

The accent is *quite* a bit more orange than renders. It certainly isn't RAMA yellow.

Not sure on what the SEQ2 KOYU colourways will be yet, that's a long while off!

AS for SEQ1, we anticipate the machining to be complete by the end of this month, it'll then be promptly surface finished and coated!
At this stage it's looking like Mid-April for the units to be completed - but will take a matter of weeks to sea-freight to our warehouse and a further few weeks for packaging/logistics.
Will keep you updated at the next stages. Getting closer!!

The doro67 is very similar to the Koyu and is shipping now. It has a hotswap option as well. Check the secondary markets
There is no hotswap option for the Doro67. There is a fixed layout RGB PCB but it doesn't have hotswap sockets.

Just did this earlier this month with your fellow Singaporean. Slot owner informs RAMA, RAMA raises new invoice to me. I pay said invoice. RAMA then refunds slot owner.

You should still be able to pick one up. I didn't order a M60, but all I did was send an e-mail to Rama Works and I was able to get it added to my KOYU order and paid a seperate invoice for it.

The enclosures have finished machining and are now moving to the next stages of production. From here they will be surface treated, Anodised or PVD coated and then carefully packed to their base configurations for packaging !!

The KOYU PCB's have arrived to our warehouse and are all packed and programmed! We'll be visting our factories early May to do a final QC before the enclosures are shipped to our Melbourne warehouse for final packaging and shipment :)

No way. The U80-A and extras won't go on sale until August at the earliest. Extras aren't sold until it's obvious that no replacement units need to be sent out.

You realize because you signed up for the list it doesn't mean you will get one, right? You will only get an invoice if there are extras after people receive their keyboards. Also, a lot of others will have signed up for extras and I'm assuming Rama would be dispersing by who signed up first to the list, so you would have to hope there's enough extras to fill all of the orders before yours as well.

As others have said, do not solicit random internet users to send you an invoice that you will pay, no questions asked. If you want to take over an existing order from a GB participant, you will want to go through the organizer (Rama in this case) to avoid a risk of being scammed (to expand a bit in case it's not clear; you can coordinate the order transfer with the individual who is selling, but in the end Rama should refund them and invoice you for the order, as this keeps everyone above board and very clear as to who has paid and rightfully owns the GB spot).
(This is not a forum rule or requirement, just a best practice to follow - however, I have removed your email address from your posts, as that is not allowed and is also just a bad idea)

Just got an email from Ramaworks that my KOYU order has shipped. I'm glad and sad at the same time, glad that it's finally on the way. However, I'm sad because it's the same week I leave for 30 days for MOS reclass in the Army. I told my wife to put it somewhere safe for my return.

Has everyone shipped? I'm still waiting on tracking information for mine.
We're shipping as many as we can per day, non-stop! You'll receive an email when the packing list has been created and the shipping label has applied to the box - then again when it's been picked up by DHL Express. We schedule pickups every morning for the shipments packed the day before. We estimate all keyboards will be shipped by end of next week (hopefully sooner). No one wants to get these all out as quickly as possible from the warehouse onto your desks, appreciate everyones patience and cannot wait to see them to use :)

It didn't work initially but after reseating the connector to the USB daughter board it's fine now.
Too bad it got knocked against my Razer BW during the troubleshooting process. There's tiny dent on the outer bezel near the right arrow key, but my OCD is making it look like a gaping scar.

Yes, some color configuration is possible in VIA directly. If you want to get down and dirty you can even program your own animations in QMK directly.

Yep! Home stretch now :) Honestly can't wait to get all the shipments out so can get back to working on the next project. We'll be counting up what stock we have left for the extras sale too which will go up in 2-3 weeks.

WOW! Love all the different combo's I'm seeing!! This is what's best, seeing how everyone personalizes it and makes it their own!!
Also, in the previous two batches, we found that we may have shipped the wrong screws for the Internal Dampener/Weight fastener kit. This is the small bag with three screws and a T10 Torx tool. If you have received three Black M2x4 fasteners, you have received the incorrect kit. Please reply to your order confirmation email that you have received the wrong kit and a replacement will be shipped! Once again, apologies about this - entirely my fault for not checking which screws were packed for that batch. The correct screws which should be received will have the marking M3x5 on the etching; there should be three of these (only if you had ordered an internal weight or dampener). Thanks!

Two dead keys on my pcb, no response when trying to activated with some tweezers either from the front or back. Unfortunately one of them is the space bar so can't really use the keyboard at all :-(
I think I'm going to switch my M80A order away from hot swap.

Yep already sent an e-mail! Yeah might give it another shot, I guess you never know which new switches are going to come out in the future and you can try them out without having to desolder / solder.

We where aiming to have them ready to go by the KOYU but unfortunately with all the design revisions it set us back a bit - they're designed so it works on the top switches etc :)
Also, with the IC removal tools - you can bent the feet at an angle which helps it fit better for the top switches :)

How hard is the coating? Will it scratch plates? I have the standard green one and it leaves scratches unless you're extra-super careful which is a damn shame

I desperately need a white board!I didn't like the milk. Had it in my cart and removed it. I reaaaaallly want this board, and I'm not going to settle for a color I'm not fond of. I want the Kuro first and foremost. Sage is a close second, but the Kuro will go with any color setup should I change rigs in the future.

I was not a big fan of white keyboard before.. but now I have a SA kobayashi to use.. and I think it will go nicely on a white keyboard... the best would be a beige/creme cerakoted one to fit the vintage theme and color! Maybe pure white will not be as good

Never say never but RAMA has a tendency to not bring back colors from one group buy to another, at least not as is — e.g. the M60-A KURO and MOON changed to the Stealth editions in the SEQ-2.

Interesting return about the sound of it. I have a ca66 which sound SUPER hollow and I am not particularly fond of.

I have both the internal weight and the internal sound dampener. I prefer the internal weight, it removes much of the hollow sound whilst keeping the clack.
Internal sound dampener is good to, but imho lubing the switches makes a ton of difference and makes the koyu and m60 sound soooo good

I knew it was gonna be hollow sounding by the type test videos they put up, so I got the internal weight as well as a piece of sorbothane to fill the space. Now it sounds absolutely awesome.

Easy fix is just to order some shelf liner from amazon and pack in a few layers inside. Changes (improves) the sound profile of most cases substantially (and a heck of a lot cheaper than sorbo).

I think you can set it into DFU mode by holding escape and space when plugging in the usb cable, another way is to use the reset button on the back of the PCB.
Then you flash with regular QMK make commands, like
