How possible is it to have 1 more R4 1u that is colored blue for the Novelties? Like maybe change one of the reds for the blue?

wish the white wasn't a subtle cream color so it would match e-white cases

WS1, in my eyes, is not a "subtle cream".
I personally think it fits way better on an e-white board than WS2, for example.
WS1 is still considered "white", just not as "cold" as WS2.

Here's an example of WS1 (GMK Minimal) on an e-white Polaris:

I think that fits wonderful.

that does look nice. i just can't not see ws1 as a creamier. i guess i'm also just picky because i've always associated the ROK flag white with a colder white. great looking set regardless.

To be honest, that is a very misleading picture you posted.
I have a GMK Color Ring in front of me right now, and I can tell you it has no "creamy" tint to it as in this picture.
The Korean Flag indeed is white, but more WS1 white than WS2 white, which is, as I said, very "cold" and almost has a slight "blue-ish" tint to it.

Agree. E-white finishes can vary from manu to manu and from keyboard to keyboard, but in my experience it's usually closer to WS1 than WS2. I think Keyreative's stock white (the one used in KAT Alpha and KAT Milkshake) might be an even better match to your average e-white finish than WS1 is.

Yeah this looks really nice, out of curiosity would having one of those R4 1u novelties be a blue key a possibility? To populate keyboards with the macro rows on the side with a column of blue keys and a column of red keys.  ;)

One of them is already blue, no?

Although this user asked for one more in R4 1u blue:
How possible is it to have 1 more R4 1u that is colored blue for the Novelties? Like maybe change one of the reds for the blue?
so maybe it would make sense to add a second one.

Oh yeah one of them is blue but for example for a Zenith having a second blue one would allow to have one entire column of blue keys on the macros which would be really cool.

Yeah that's what I was going for I should have made it more clear. I think having that extra key will allow to fill up those 5 key columns. I'm possibly just biased because I have a Zenith coming  ;D

I think that's a reasonable suggestion :) Perhaps two Taegeuk novelties like these could also be added on R4? Bonus: they would double as Taegeuk 1u winkeys. That could look awesome on an HHKB board!

Something for Smokey to consider.

In fact, my suggestion would then be to drop these three extra red R4 1u trigram novelties:

And instead add something like this on R4:

This would let you cover 5-row macro clusters like on the Zenith, as well as allow you to have blue Taegeuk winkeys on HHKB bottom rows:

1u Taegeuk1.5u Alt or Palace7u space1.5u Alt or Palace1u Taegeuk

Ohh I like how you think that is actually a really cool idea, the only question is whether that would fit within Smokey's concept and his vision for the set because in the end that is the most important part. If it does I'd love to see something like that.  :thumb:

Guuuuuys, hold your horses  ;)

Cool ideas and all, but that goes a little too far for me. And more people will actually need/use the R4 trigrams. Me included.
But I will change the 1u enter key in JAPCHAE kit to blue in a timely manner.

Oh sorry about that we did get a little into it.

The trigrams are pretty cool. Having a blue one to match the red ones in a column would be cool but understandable about keeping it as is.  :thumb:

Quick Edit: Though I do have a cool idea I want to try with the set. Also really awesome job, this set is beautiful.

Cutting the R4 trigrams isn't a must. Consider adding the R4 keys a separate suggestion. Thare's a couple of people that have asked for it.

Hey guys,
1u enter in JAPACHAE KIT has been changed to blue, to support right side blue mods on ortholinear layouts. Made sense!

Rearding the Novelties:

It's not that edgecase-y like I thought, tbh.
More keyboards than I initially thought support a 10key macro layout (Zenith, J-01, Jubi, 60XT etc.). I see that as pretty reasonable.
In addition, molds which already have been made ran be re-used in different rows. I am thinking about it.

Hi everybody,

the Novelties have been reworked to some extent.
Thank you very much konstantin for our awesome chat yesterday. You've been very helpful.

TL;DR - A r4 blue geon trigram has been added.

Here are the final Novelties:

Explanation (usecases):

1. Trigram change of order:

2. Novelties Setup (and ofc 65%/75% right column Layout Support, Esc & F13 Support etc.)

3. 4 Row Macro Layout Support

4. 5 Row Macro Layout Support

5. HHKB Layout Support

Since the INTEREST CHECK FORM was literally blowing up with many of you wanting some "black" in this set, I would like to introduce the "BLACK DAY KIT".
Black Day is a unofficial holiday in South Korea and I think the name fits in more than one way. First, and obvious enough, the color of the kit. Second, the holiday in Korea is associated with Valentine's Day, but is for everyone that didn't receive a gift on that day.
This is for everyone of you wanting some black in GMK Hanguk and didn't receive it, yet.

So here is your very own "BLACK DAY":

There were so many people who had the same wish, so I just could not unhear that.
I decided not to blow up the BASE and NOVELTY Kits any further, but now everyone who wants black accent keys can have them in this set.

I hope you enjoy...

I know the IC is getting along pretty far, but is there any way you could throw in a little more black into consideration? I'm thinking make the mods and the navigation keys black and add them into Black Day, to add the option of giving it a little more of that clean Olivia/Metaverse look while still being able to retain some of those blue and red accents for individuality.

For the rice bowl novelty, you might want to consider removing the chopsticks sticking out of the rice, considering cultural implications.

This set is a unique set of its own, coming out of my mind.
Black accents, which were wished by many many people in the IC Form, are totally fine and give this set some, as the name says and I really like in the meantime, black accents. I will not do more. Sorry.
In addition, like you mentioned, I don't want to give it a "GMK X" or "GMK Y" look.

Hi everybody,

So...bad news. And good news.

Unfortunately I had to cancel the collaboration with Space Cables.
It's under no circumstances Space's fault whatsoever though.
We had some nice cerakoted cables planned, but their cerakote company dropped the ball way too hard and did not respond for weeks now.
Which led to not preparing any proto so far and the collab would not make it in time for the GB.

BUT, here comes the good news. I found a new partner in crime.

I've talked to my buddy Chase from Luxe Cables and he will very gladly help out, here.
This is why I'd like to announce a new collab with said Luxe Cables!

We already talked about a very nice cable colorway and will present a proto shortly!

Thank you Chase for being the awesome dude you are.

I hope you enjoy.

Sure thing!
Why shouldn't I be as transparent as I can be?

Again, nobody but Space's cerakoting company is to blame, here.
But they already took counter actions that stuff like this will not happen again.

Thank you, I very much appreciate that.

Hi everybody,

small update today while we still wait for quotes, which should come in next week: Deskmat protos round 2 came in today and I could not be happier.
I was not satisfied with round 1 of protos, so we switched the manufacturer who is totally on point and I can sell these deskmats with a very good feeling.

Here is a sneak peek:

I appreciate the set and the love you have for the Korean culture. However your rice novelty can easily be misconstrued as a representation of a Korean funeral practice and chopsticks sticking up from rice at the table is considered to be pretty rude; I would change the novelty to either take out the chopsticks, or have them resting on the bowl horizontally. You could also use specifically a Korean spoon instead, because rice is more commonly eaten with a spoon rather than with chopsticks in Korean food etiquette.

I have been to Seoul so many times.
I never heard of that but just researched it.
Will definitively do something about that.
That was not my intention.
Expect some changes during the next week.

Of course.
I do not want to be rude against anyone and cause hard feelings whatsoever.
It will be changed immidiately.
The chopsticks will be changed to a korean spoon (숟가락).
Expect changes soon.

First off, I'm Korean and have attended numerous 제사. For me, the way the chopsticks are angled in the current novelty does not remind 제사 at all. You put the spoon vertically in the rice and put the chopstick horizontally on the food your ancestor enjoyed the most. At least that is how I learned it.

Thank you very much.
The chopsticks will be changed to a 숟가락 nonetheless.
I just saw that in discord already someone said the same thing as EURA.

Let's just avoid any misinterpretations.
