But does it split?

If you wanted split, the VEA and others fit that bill.

This is what I wanted to replace my MS ergonomic 4000 years ago.  Kinesis' freestyle2 mechanical ergo board seems to be vaporware at this point, so this is a welcome surprise.  Will the alpha sections be angled or flat?

That would be awesome, but it increases the level of complexity since you have to split the PCB out into different segments.  Could still be possible though (and expensive!)...

LZ boards are expensive, with 1 PCB or 5 PCBs, right?  ;)
I bet the controller will be under the empty section between the alphas, making a multi-PCB set up problematic without bundles of ribbon cables.  Looking forward to seeing more renders/prototypes!

I am just noticing this now, but why is the top left corner weird? Can it just be a 90 degree angle? I'll have to see it from more perspectives to understand why it was done.

Perspective.  It appears to line up with the longer back edge on the right side.

The whole shape is kinda weird.

I'd be in for a smaller version. I like the Em.7

For me this is the holy grail of keyboards.
 - A single piece split ergo mechanical modeled after my favorite keyboard of all time
 - WITHOUT a large bottom wrist rest so I have an option to use it with my RollerMouse.

That is exactly the why I got into mechanical keyboards to begin with.
Super excited about this.

Not bad, really interesting to see something like this layout built to LZ's Standard.

Meaning a Second Hand built one should fetch thousands on Ebay  ;) .

It'd be awesome if it had tenting like the Microsoft Sculpt, but I'm probably in the minority with that sort of thing.

Hi LZ! I'm interested! Looking forward to updates, the render looks really good :)

It'd be awesome if it had tenting like the Microsoft Sculpt, but I'm probably in the minority with that sort of thing.

The combination of tenting and negative tilt is a dream...I'd love to see both in a custom like this, but that's wishful thinking, a nice low angle would do wonders for me

I'd love for this to have tenting.  All I really want is an MS Ergo style board with MX reds and I'd be a very happy camper.  If this board is along those lines, I'm definitely interested.  This would be damn near perfect.  Just needs some VE.A left side macro keys to really lock things in.

Programmable?  Otherwise I'd be hoping for the option of an Fn key on the left side.
