Leopold FC660C (Topre) on the Mac for writing. Just got a FC660M (MX Clear) to try those switchs but i think I'll use it on PC, for gaming. Just replaced my Realforce 88UB by a Keycool 84 (MX Black) for that. So I guess I'll just switch sometimes.   8)
You replaced an RF with a KC? What compelled you to do that? Are you actually satisfied with the KC?

Very satisfied but let be clear about one thing : for me Topre > *  ;)  But the 45g for gaming is just meh. I will sell it soon I guess and hunt for a 10th Anniv. Ed. in 55g when I'll be in Japan, hopefully in 2014 max. That hunt will concern a HHKB too I think... I want all the Topre. -_-

The KC is very good for me because I really like the layout, I wanted to REALLY try MX Black, and so I bought one. It was the same for the 600M in MX Clear : I was tired of "wondering" and just bought one.
Thanks for clarifying things a bit. So, if I understand correctly, you do like the FC660C with 45-gram Topre switches, but you do not particularly like your RF TKL with 45-gram Topre switches. You said you would like to get a HHKB Pro 2, but I suppose you realize that it comes only with 45-gram Topre switches. And you would like to get a 10th anniversary RF TKL with 55-gram Topre switches. I guess that the feel of Topre switches varies among different kinds of keyboards.

I wish I could try both a 45-gram and 55-gram RF 87U. I anticipate that I would prefer the 45-gram, but I could not know for certain without actually trying both switch weights.

That's the weird problem of the RF : the 45g feels too light on their board, the 55 fantastic. BUT the 45g feels perfect on the FC660C and HHKB. Go figure. Of course, those adj applies to ME. I have friends who don't understand why I would like to change the "perfect" 45g RF. ;)

I'm using a Steelseries 6Gv2

Its a great keyboard (soon as I hit the keys I knew it was well made!) I love Mechanical Keyboards but I'm now wanting a LED keyboard but I'm not sure which Q-Pad 80 Mechanical to go for...

Welcome to Geekhack!

Have you had your SSK long?

They seem to be popular around here.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I can't wait! Mine should arrive any day now. Early Christmas present from my Dad. <3
I am a bit sad about lack of keycap options (one of the only cons I had when considering), but hopeful that they'll start offering more soon.

Filco Majestouch Minila with browns

My O-rings and a few custom caps come in the mail today. I hope the profile is right on the caps and can't wait to hear the difference with the O-rings.

**UPDATE** : My keys and O-rings have arrived. This is my first key cap mod and the profile is perfect and I love the simple addition of some color. Even though they aren't PBT (Minila options are nil at the moment since I would want to do the whole board if I changed material) I like the mod very much...

38080-0

Typing this on my Unicomp ultra classic as I add the O-rings to Minila. Nerdily excited

I'm using IBM 3278 beam spring and Honeywell hall effect keypad.

Which monitor is that?  Or does it have a custom bezel?  Very thin--looks great.

Looks like a kaypro layout keyboard to me. If so, that would date it to the middle 1980's

edit: according to his post of the same picture on DT (check the image URL) it's a DEC VT100
http://deskthority.net/photos-videos-f8/post-your-desktop-t1919-480.html#p123899

The VT100 was out from 1978-1983 or so.

The monitor has clearly had the bezel removed. I did the same on mine. According to his DT post, it's an HP.

Was using a Poker 2 w/Reds for a daily driver for a while.

Tried a Poker X w/Reds for a bit to see how different pcb vs plate cherry felt.

Now I'm in the process of putting together a 30g Realforce, so I'm pretty excited for that since it's my 1st time using a RF and 30g domes :D

That's what I was thinking, though it looked so neat.  Generally, removed bezels leave behind some bolt holes and what not--from photos I've seen, it's frequently very apparent that a bezel is missing.  This one looks like it was intended to be manufactured that way.

That's where I plan the destruction of all the long haired white cats. Universal destruction is just a secondary hobby.

Nice detective work.  ;)

It's a VT100 (probably 1980/81) with unusual colours. I've never seen another one with the same colours. The Kaypros are behind the desk. (not visible in the picture)

I didn't remove the bezel for fun - the damn thing broke and fell apart when I moved it. I thought I was screwed, but discovered it works perfectly fine without it and looks much better. I never liked the shiny plastic case. Now the non-shiny thin metal bezel more suits the matte screen. The only problem is the lack of a stand. Luckily, it balances fairly well on the beam spring keyboard case.

I've got to say that every input device in that picture (besides the phone) is there due to help from geekhack / Deskthority members. I wouldn't have the VT100 if it wasn't for Parak's help. The 3278 beam spring would be useless without xwhatsit's excellent controller. The NOS hall effect keypad is from HaaTa. I got a great deal on the DT225 trackball thanks to csarek.

Edit: screen is an HP 2211x
