I'm back to TypeMatrix 2030 from Kinesis Advantage. I'm torn.

I don't like the kinesis (I need Ctrl and AltGr all the time, but it's too far there), nor do I want to let TM's ABS keycaps shine and the skin makes typing slow. Meanwhile, my ErgoDox is basically work in progress once again, because I've grown tired of MX Clear switches. I don't want to go back to staggered layout either...

Hehe, problem solved. I brought an armchair to my desk and use the kinesis on my lap. It feels much better. I've remapped Caps Lock to AltGr and it's better than nothing, but I need to find a new spot for Esc now.

Random SA caps from crap-bag. Modded the indicator LEDs to RGB.
This is the oldest mech keyboard I have, so the red switches are buttery smooth.
Definitely my favorite keyboard to type on.

I'll post pics later.

I currently use a Typematrix 2030 at work and I just ordered a TECK with blues from MassDrop's Bazaar for home.  I know, I know, crummy customer service,  etc., etc.  But due to an old injury that didn't heal right, I really need the non-staggered layout.  I have tiny hands and the Matrix layout feels so nice on my joints.

I was considering buying a Corsair K70 Vengeance for my boyfriend's gaming computer, but after what I've read here, I think I want to get him a Ducky Shine III, but they're all sold out except for the gold edition and the yellows and I think the man might kill me if I put one of those on his desk.

I replaced his monitor last year.  This year his complaint is with his crappy Razer rubber dome POS.  I just started learning about mechanical keyboards and I've been researching.  Thankfully, I talked him out of the Razer 2014 Ultimate with the cherry knockoffs.

If anyone knows where I can get a Shine 3 with green LED and reds, I would much appreciate it.  Or suggest a good alternative until the Shines are available.

Thanks for the fast reply. Mechanical Keyboards are all pretty much sold out on the regular Shine 3s.  Amazon too and I don't have the cash for the gold edition.  I'll check ebay and the other sites you mentioned. Thanks.

Sadly I'm stuck with my Razer Black Widow with MX Blue's, I bought this because I'm mostly gaming on my computer and I wanted a gaming keyboard. That said I'm not really pleased with it, and I'm now in the progress of getting parts for my first real keyboard wich is a custom phantom.

Well, my BlackWidow now tucked away in the box :) It's the proper place for it. Still, switches weren't that bad.

Was it a silent variable? When I have the dough, I plan to buy a white silenced variable and swap the stems and domes with my 87UB 55g to create a ghetto 55g "type-s."

Started using my old Model M again. It's the first mech I ever used. After a couple days of use my ergo clears feel mushy and way too light :-\
This thing is amazing, but the lack of a windows key (which I use as alt on mac) is a pain in the a**. I've forgotten how nice clicky boards are, and I can't wait to try the Omnikey from akimbo's blue alps tour.

At home I seem to be alternating between HHKB and Model M.  Using the HHKB early in the morning and late at night when others are sleeping, and Model M during the day, like now.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

One Truly Ergonomic 109 blank key model.
One Poker II green LED.
Both Browns.
I also have a Unicomp something or other as well.

I love browns. I tried reds briefly, and while I loved their linearity, I wanted some feedback.
The stabilizers on the Poker are really nice. Lack of arrow keys is meh though. Fn-wasd is alright.

A just-purchased TKL Filco M2/MX Black keyboard.

And...how do you like it?

I'm really enjoying the Filco M2/MX Black keyboard. I may sell my 87U/55-gram. MX Black switches really suit me.

Nice! Glad you like them. You should get your hands on some vintage blacks—they're much smoother than stock blacks. I'd recommend picking up a G80-3000 with OG doubleshots if you can find one. Most of those are old enough to have vintage blacks.
I love linear switches as well, and will probably be putting some vintage blacks (with brown springs) in my JD40...once it comes.

HHKB Pro 2 (not S because I work in my own office and I don't care about noise  :p  ) at work on my desk, HHKB lite on the KVM in the server rack because I like the layout and needed something small, a Filco majestitouch with blues on my test station, 1993 Model M at home on my desktop, a logitech wireless scissor switch thing with a track pad for my HTPC, Pure Pro in blue with Browns and rainbow gradient PBT caps from qtan in my bag with my laptop, multitool, spare battery for charging usb stuff, pen and mini moleskin, gym stuff and a RIA 1911 with spare magazines for on the go.  Those are the ones I use on a daily basis, and currently the only things I have in the mail are a jdcarpe 40% with honey40 caps, and ergodox with clears and aluminum top plate.   Still haven't decided on the caps for the ergodox, but I will probably get some blanks for now until the next groupbuy that I like comes along.  I should have ordered some of the honeywell caps for it, I wish I could still get hyperfuse!  Someday I'll get a gon built board in 60%, but that is really the only thing on my radar besides maybe a red colored topre brobot or two to balance out my red escape keys.
Current daily drivers : HHKB Pro 2, HHKB Lite in a server rack, A few Filco numpads in brown and blue, Pure Pro in Brown with Rainbow PBT, CM Ninja in Brown with white engaved PBTs, two Model Ms 89 and 91 with a few red esc, Ergodox full in clear with blanks, a jdcarpe built 40% awaiting some Round 6 keycaps, and soon a Gon custom.  Hundreds more on site at a mechanical friendly work site where I am the purchaser.  If it exists, I probably have used one!

I'm using a blue Alps Duck Mini V2 that I finished up yesterday :)

It's the first clicky keyboard that I seriously love.

The M is good, but form factor is important for me. Blue alps also give buckling spring over membrane a serious run for their money.
