The base set contain 13 new Roman numerals molds. These are R1 1u and hence can be used either in the Numrow or in the F Rows. The Macros introduce Roman numeral macros plus traditional dual colored F Row mods.

Rudis aka Base kit                                                     Spectacula aka Novelties Kit

Columna aka Spacebars                                                        International Kit

Numeri aka Numpad kit                                                      Armature aka Macros Kit

The Forgotten                                                     The Gladiator
Meandros

Disclaimer : The keyboards are for visual purposes and are not included in the set. Colors in the final product may vary since renders are done under idealistic artificial lighting.

Why are regular and roman F13 different colors?

Why are regular and roman F13 different colors?
Because the roman row in base kit is only meant for num row. You can still use those keys for F row but colors wont be conventional. If you care about correct conventional color => macro kit for accurate color.

I appreciate your choices. Personally, I feel its more cleaner with caps on the stepped key.

I might be wrong about this, but I think it’s so you could also use the Roman numerals on the f row. This is what I gather from the first KBDFANS MXII render at least. That explains the additional, more standard number row included in the base kit.

With regards to the set, I like the colors. That said, the kitting decisions that you made in the base kit make this a very expensive proposition for anyone who wants to have a proper numpad or full accent support. Good luck with the group buy regardless.

Yeah thats right. These are R1 1u. So can be used as an unconventional F row as well. For a more traditional dual colored F rows, you would need the Macro support.

Yeah having everything would be expensive. I agree. The goal was to minimize cost for most people who dont need numpad support. This is always been an issue for any TKL bases.
The base kit at $129 is very competitive imo comparing to other sets running / ran.

Again, thanks for the kind words and support! I appreciate it a lot!

It seems that the intent of the alpha colored 'XIII' is intended for if someone would like to use the Roman numerals on the function row, as the Roman numerals in the base kit are only alpha colored.

If someone was going to use the Roman numerals on the num row, there wouldn't be a conventional place for it, however, if someone did choose to use split bs, then that would enable the use of the 'XIII'.

I'm not a fan of the Roman numerals in the base kit, but this is my understanding.

Based on base kit render, that  alpha "~`" key can still be replaced with a roman key.

EU prices will be higher across the board for every set running due to the Euro losing its value.
There is nothing anyone can do regarding this.

You don't have any idea about how moq, custom color and custom mold affect the final price, do you?

If you're splitting BS then you have 2 more spaces to fill so why not have a roman 14 as well if this is how you envisioned it? What's the point of going from 1 to 13 and then having pipe?

1-13 --> reusability in F row. 14 could have been also added but no one wanted / mentioned it during the IC phase.

It's still crazy when you think GMK sets are produced in Europe (Germany)! It should be cheaper locally than after the oversee trip!

Yeah those are the taxes we must pay. It is what it is.
Living in EU, I have accepted the 20+ % markup + more taxes for anything I buy anywhere :/

looks solid. definitely a strong consideration but not having numpad in base and being forced to buy 2 styles of numbers hurts for value b/c you won't even use so many of the keys

Not sure if it’s been pointed out before, but I’m pretty sure there’s a kitting error in the International Kit; the R4 key with : , (colon, comma) should be ; , (semi-colon, comma). I think this was an error that was propagated from a few other sets (I made the same mistake in one of my own).

Small Update incase people are wondering about numbers :

We are already way past the half way mark on numbers. So all kits should meet MOQ easily!
Sadly majority of the vendors have not yet updated any numbers so there is no point uploading something which is very old.

I would also encourage people who always need an international kit to check this set out! I am hopeful to see the international kit hit MOQ!!

Cheers! :thumb:

Just my way of showing the alternative colors offered in those two kits on the graph.
