2.0 looks great (especially since it's a fully fleshed-out kit). Some green (similar to that of 1.1) would be nice too. Specifically, I think the green that is used in the Dracula color scheme (#50fa7b, maybe a little bit paler version) would pair very well with the current accents in this kit.

All in all, very well done!

Will have something for the 1.1 crew pretty soon here.

Very interested.
Great execution on the novelties :)

I have a strong belief this set will be an eye-opener once finalized (kittings, etc.)

Since novelties are all 1u, can you place them from R1 to R4 to form 1-2 macro columns for 65/75s users? The colorway is very good.

At this stage, novelty sizes are not set in stone. So if you have any suggestions, such as the 65/75 novelty support, definitely let let me know.

Thank for the input

Novelties in render are all R1, I recommend place them to form 2 columns from R1 to R4.

Yeah, i think so. R1 is either f-row or num row. The majority of the community is 65/75s. The problem is that in 65s layout, there's only 1 R1 row which is numbers, backspace and a 1u mod key on the right column. People normally don't replace their num row with novelties so I believe keeping a few keys in R1 and moving the rest to R2-R4 are better for both layouts since 65/75 both share a right macro column.

Are the novelty and expansion keys one whole kit? If so, may want to split them into separate kits as it could get quite expensive with GMK.

I'd love to see basic 40s support.
The keys for that are 1.75 R2 Backspace, 1.25 R3 Tab and 1.5 R3 Enter.

I'm not quite sure I understand the purpose of the color sequencing mods (I much prefer the look of the base kit mods).

The novelties could perhaps include two more R4 1u keys. That way one would have two full macro columns.

Are you sure you can handle color matching with this complex radiance? The concept looks very good but the lead time will suffer imo (GMK Dracula.....)

Nice format for novelties there, 8 alpha color keys for F1-F4 and F9-F12, 5 mod colors for F5-F8 and F13, the rest is for columns. Very well-thought  :thumb:

Yeah this is one of those tough calls to make. These are my thoughts for anyone in addition to kight who may have the same question/suggestion.

The mod sequence you see in the expansion kit was supposed to be the default mods at one point, but was changed to the current base mods as the set was adjusted.

I asked around and the feedback was split nearly 50/50 on which mods people liked more. I think that the expansion mods are a more familiar color pattern to most people. It's pretty similar to a lot of the RGB light gradient patterns on mass produced gaming boards. But I also understand the other half of the crowd who likes the cooler toned / somewhat scattered look (which is what I personally prefer).

With those things in mind I figured it would be a boon to a sizeable number of people to include the expansion mods.

but

I'm unsure whether the expansion mods by themselves would meet the minimums. That's why they're in the single kit with novelties. Usually when you buy the novelties, you're looking to have some fun and customize and having the extra mod colors doesn't hurt.

Cost has been a forefront question for myself regarding the new expansion kit so I'm right there with you. I'll be looking over prices from similar kits over the next few days and we can always make adjustment if necessary.

Thanks for your input kight  :thumb:

I couldn't tell you that I've got this handled on the first try with absolute certainty. Fortunately/unfortunately I'm not the one mixing the paint  :D

But I've been making it a point for myself to pick colors that are generally considered reasonable to replicate.

Nothing that is too "hyper ultra fluorescent" or too pastel or saturated beyond belief. And colors where we have a little bit of wiggle room so that the set works without us having to make razor thin or unrealistic adjustments to our 9 different colors over and over again.

But then again, everything I mentioned is nothing new so to answer your question directly: I'd like to think I have this handled, but only time will truly tell.  :))

to answer the questions:

- the current mods are nice. agree that 1.1 is nicer though

- any chance of (some) colored novelties? i understand that'll drive the novelties up in terms of price already though

Hi,

- Currently we have the 1.1 mods included in the overdrive kit if you like that sequence. Doing my best to try and create a compromise that will work for most people  :thumb:

- Yes, I'm currently considering colored novelties. It would be nice to have a splash of color. No concrete announcements on that at this moment though.

And thanks for your input

Any explanation to the multi-colored mod legends?

I feel like this set would be really great with maybe one or two legend colors. It feels like there are different legend colors for the sake of having more colors. Carry on :)

Good job!

I love the different colored mod legends, and the cool alpha's are really appealing to me.
I feel that some colored novelties, and maybe even some full mod novelties with "pew pew" type flavoring (i.e. for enter, backspace, etc.)
Along that same vein, maybe some accent arrow keys? Unsure what that would look like though, maybe alpha colors?
GLWIC, I think this is really shaping up to be a good set!

Didn't see the old versions, but I just wanted to comment and say that the current base kit is solid. I'll probably buy it if it releases at close to the current version. I'm not a fan of icon only mods, so seeing a good icon+text is nice to see.

I like the current kitting, just give everything compatability-wise in the base kit and have a novelties on a seperate kit

Hello!
Just stumbled upon this IC. I also have not seen the older iterations, but I love the current design as it is now. Colors are great, and I love to see icon + text mods. Echoing others, I do hope the novelties and mods extension kits can be split to drive the prices down a little!

:thumb:nice work!!! This is one of my most anticipated works.
my suggestions:
1.Could separate the numpad into another kit?
2.Whether consider to add a R2 novelty keycap? So that some novelty kits buyer will be able to use novelty kits to replace print, pause, delete ,pgdn and so on..
3.If it's possible to design some mod novelty keycaps? (such as enter, shift and backspace) or R4 height 1.25U,1.5U novelty keycaps ?Just for replacing  ctrl, alt  and win lol...
4.Could divide the mods of colored characters into another kit  instead of putting them in novelty kit?
My question:
Did you choose to use the Raul color card for colored characters? Their saturation seems very low, which is my favorite type.Normcore is always suitable. In addition, the color codes could be announced in GB?No other thoughts, simply because of interest.By the way,I really like this work and oblivion,  hope to mix and match them to achieve more interesting effects. :thumb:

I like the design a lot, but I have a few nitpicks (mostly kitting related):

 - i imagine you're already know this, but 40s and ergo kitting would be awesome
 - It'd be really nice if there was a colored R4 delete to match the escape key. If you use delete on R4 with HHKB layout, it'll look really weird because the delete will be the wrong color.
 - There's no convex 1.25u key. This is a little niche, a non-insignificant number of boards that support split space do so with a 1.25u key in the middle (namely many KBDFans PCBs)
 - Personal aesthetic preference (i wouldn't blame you for shooting it down), but personally i think that text-only mods would look better than the mixed text+icon mods.

Anyways, awesome set, look forward to it going to GB :)
