Nope.  Never figured it out.  The keys I defined for LED control do wildly different things, seemingly at random.  Even the backlighting zones give me trouble sometimes.

OK, but that doesn't explain which key(s) to press or in which order to press them to achieve the listed result.

Also Google translate seems to indicate that document might only apply to the Orion.  It's hard to tell.

You'll have to map the key or use the default on the octagon. I believe its layer 3 then its Fn + 1 in the number row if I'm not wrong. (Also need to map the Fn key and the right layer to point it at)

The #4 item on my previous post is based on the colors you picked in the 02D mapper.

See this is not the case for me. I picked all orange on the colors in the 02D mapper under Tools > RGB Color Preset yet when I put it in cycling mode with the 'R Mode' key it just cycles a bunch of RGB colors, none of the modes show my orange.

Bye bye money. Hello Octagon v2. Please don't show up too soon. I'm spending too much right now! If it has Alps compatibility I'm done. Now the question is, do I keep or sell my Octagon when get this one. Hmmm. The only thing stopping me from selling mine is the heavy theme it will have and the fact Alps can't crossover caps wise unless I get those adapter things.

Sounds good to me. One MX, one Alps, so I don't have to feel like one is redundant!  :thumb:

I suppose so! I'd use some foam silicone rubber or neoprene to make the feet and cut it to shape

Or grab and cut a non-slip mat from a kitchen supply store.

Did you guys see the updated pics of the new Octagon yet?

Get hyped!

This is getting me antsy as hell. I really want to buy all the different versions, even though I've told myself I've settled on one to go with the SNES GMK set.

I bet we will! At least new RGB controls, lol. I'm still happy that the original Octagon had RGB though. :D

You'll be looking ~$350 is my guess after shipping and pp fees maybe a little more depending on where you live.

Edit: It'll probably end up closer to $400 than anything if it is similar to Duck's GBs.

The last one was around $360 (shipped to the US) when all was said and done, and that was for a single milled slab of aluminum.

Since the final price for an all aluminum combo for the Orion v2 was $360 + shipping, and since there's considerably less material that goes into a 75%, I can imagine the price being like the original Octagon or even lower.

If you all remember, the original Orion was even more expensive than this one by quite a bit.

If you live in  the US, I see the Octagon v2 being around $350-360. Not a bad price. :thumb: I'd get two if I was rich, but I'm probably going to settle on the silver + blue/ti grey aluminum bottom combo.

Once again, design concept prevails or else I'd have gotten a red case, since it's my favorite aluminum case color by far. Though not many key sets go well with red. :P

Haha, I know, I know. I agree on both counts! I'm tempted to sell my V1 as well, but I think I'd rather hang onto it as there are some things about it I find pretty charming that are gone in this revision. Yes, that dumb little name plate that actually makes the board octagonal, haha.

I'm fine owning a V1 and a V2, I think that'd be pretty cool actually. :)

I'd say whenever everything from the Orion v2 group buy is fulfilled, so probably in a month or two. I'd say two months. Three if things take a little longer than planned.

I'm definitely fine with waiting!

Missed it by over half a year, they just aren't finished shipping the rest of the keyboards. Once it's all said and done then Duck moves onto the next group buy.

No problem. :) I think if I do get any other option for the bottom aside from aluminum, it'd be the flat acrylic bottom.

385000 South Korean Won equals
331.68520 US Dollar

The price for the whole package with the aluminum bottom.  From the original's price of $295, it's about $36 more expensive. Shipping to the US for the last buy was $57. So... We can expect a price around $390.

I guess the two piece design is more expensive to mill? The original Orion was a lot more expensive than the Orion v2.

Original was a comparatively simple 1-part case.  The 2-part case is more complex and therefore more expensive.

Very much true. There's a lot more machining to do for the separate halves and all the tapping for screws and what not on both ends, LED indicator lights, etc. (I'm definitely going to hang onto my V1 though, as there is something nice about a solid 1-piece design I like over 2-piece, though I'll most certainly pick up a v2 as well!)

But...

Why was the Orion v1 more expensive than the v2?

AFAIK, they were both two part designs, but the original was quite a bit more expensive.
