So this is the same guy that was asking $2500 for one of them Buy It Now for the past couple weeks, but it doesn't look like this auction has a reserve.
Anyone want to get a group bid together on these? I really want one!
-
same seller he had tyhe same run of 4 same keyboards and they sold for whooping $9.000 , so no this is not a great find because most likely these boards will end up as high as the previous ones.
-
wow that's crazy! i can't believe how much people will pay for rare awesome stuff. definitely out of my reach. :(

Maybe he bid himself because the price was not high enough?
It's a strange thing he auctions 4 again and not one by one.
-
He had a single one up 'buy it now' for a couple of weeks, and it looks like he delisted that and made this auction.
As I said before there is no reserve, so if anyone else is serious about trying to get one of these i think a group bid is worth a shot.
And by serious, I mean KMAC range, I wouldn't spend any more on one keyboard.

No they were used ^^

You're telling me...

I'm 5 minutes away from this place. To think, before they knew what they were worth, I could have gone in there and picked up 4 MX5000's for like fifty bucks. Sigh.
-
^ Which place are you talking about?
-
The place selling these keyboards- it's right up the road. They do primarily electronics salvage, and they do business locally as well as through the massive eBay store. They must have happened across a lot of these destined for some Rochester tech-industry business that went under before the keyboards saw use.

No wonder you need to sell all your other stuff. You just spent a fortune! ;)

haha I wish those were mine :(

And just think how much more they would have gone for if that last manual wasn't missing!
-
yep, whoever got the one without manual will never know how to use the keyboard. What a waste...
;-)

Insanity...

Hey Guys! Thank you for your interest in our keyboard auction! We've been following your discussion thread intently after our first auction. Must confess we had no idea they were as rare as they were and especially how much they sell for. We auctioned the second lot off, starting at $14.99, just to see if lightening strikes twice. In this case it did. To be clear we did call all the keyboards used but that was only because we were not sure of their prior history as well as the condition of some of the boxes however they do look like they've never been used. Probably just sitting in the company's basement for the last 25 years! If anyone else has additional questions regarding this auction or any other Sunnking auctions just let me know.
Thanks,
Sunnking

Welcome :D.
How many such keyboards do you have left? :P
-
Just a handful, maybe 4 or 5? Not sure what we're gonna do with them yet...
-
You're going to auction them exclusively on GeekHack? :)
-
Never thought about that! We'll probably sit on them for a little while. I'll drop you guys a line when we're ready to make any further sales. Thanks again for your continued interest.

Scratch that, we actually have a posting for one of the Cherry's scheduled to go live on eBay this afternoon around 4pm EST. We're putting it up with a fixed price but are entertaining offers. If interested please feel free to make an offer through the eBay channel later this afternoon.
Thanks,
Sunnking

No Link? Not a great salesman. Here, I will help him out:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cherry-MX-5000-Split-Ergonomic-Keyboard-Ergoplus-G80-5000HAAUS-w-User-Manual-/360467878900?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUA%26otn%3D5%26pmod%3D190688213589%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D165092489473483683
$2,500 for this rare G80-5000HAAUS? But the last lot of 4 sold for $1,972.22 each. Why the price increase? I guess because this one has the user manual, so user manual costs $527.78. That seems like a TOTALLY reasonable price for a user manual (not). Anyway, I would love to have one of these, but $2,500 is a bit crazy, IMO, even with the blessed user manual. But what can I say? One of you will buy it. Maybe the idle rich should pay more taxes, so they have less money to throw around?

Hey Guys, The current listing has a "best offer" option on it. If you feel like the price is a bit steep you're more than welcome to submit a best offer for consideration. Thanks again for your interest in this listing!

I'm thinking of listing my MX5000/MX5700 combo on ebay for kicks. :)
