Leopold keyboard owners be careful during disassembly
« on: Fri, 28 July 2023, 10:53:04 »
I own both FC750R and 980m, both has their own quirks during disassembly...

In case you need to take it apart for cleaning or modding... here are some protips to avoid breaking it!

To open its plastic shell to get to the internals, have some guitar picks handy, for wedging purposes..also be careful of not breaking the plastic tabs!

Once the top part is gone, the steelplate/PCB is either attached to the bottom part by a ribbon cable(FC750R) or its 'sandwiched' together by a tiny connector (FC980m) 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254

Point here is, with the 750R you can access the ribbon cable at an angle and disconnect it. The FC980m NEVER angle it! You'll snap the tiny connector! You oughta hold the sides & wiggle both ends carefully till it separates..

hope this helps a bit

As the owner of two FC980C and one FC980M, I thank you for your advice. Fortunatelly, I had never had to open any of my boards yet and all of them work like the day I purchased them.
