GB is open on GH

The IC for this set is over.
Finally we choose the four color and place the order directly.
The GB will be started at some right time for this set.
And more colorful GEEKHACK keycaps will try as another set.

If enough members are interested in the sets, I will ask for the price to GMK.
I think it will be a little higher(Two factor) per key than the character key.

1.) icon design and manufacture cost by GMK
2.) Cherry factor

Just like have done the Group Buy for the a small quantity of key set. (CMYK or others)

Consider me interested (depending on the price). I also thing that including a matching GH key in the different sets would be significantly beneficial to the sale.

I've been in contact with GMK about getting these made - I think 2500 for just 3 colour combos is a bit of a tall order - it would be great to get more colours (maybe 8-10 combos)

Still waiting to hear back from GMK and Cherry on permissions

With the most recent Chinese buys that ran the cap they actually went through Cherry to get them made rather than directly going to GMK

Ah, i see. I remember hearing about the cost of the mold a while ago, but wasn't sure if something had changed with the price since people where talking about having some made.

It could be done but would probably add about $20 to the cost of a set (assuming you got 250 orders)

Why not run this with JTK? They already have the molds for the Cherry logo & Geek Hack keys! Also, probably much more willing to to more custom legends in the future.

JTK's roadmap is pretty much taped out for quite a while - don't think its possible at the moment

Plus I'm wanting to get the colours to match existing gmk sets

I am not to say that the JTK is not good.
But the JTK Cherry Logo is unauthorized.

When you wil see the render graph by GMK, that means it already get the permission from the brand.

The GMK is so cautious on the copyright things.

Been speaking to GMK and they have referred me on to Cherry to get permission even before doing a mock up

I don't really get why so little colors when you want to sell 5-15 per participant, wouldn't several colors be way more interesting, or is that just so bad for production cost?

For the Cherry Logo, it has the VI standard requirement.
Only the Red/Black/White for each other.
And each color has the MOQ maybe.

I'm interested in this. by the way, what's the VI standard requirement for Cherry logo keycap? is it a requirement from GMK or Cherry? this would be helpful if we are to plan any future groupbuys and include the new Cherry logo in it.

Yes, I have noticed that swimmingbird want to start the GMK single key at IC here.
And will also do the Cherry Logo keycap after I posted the thread https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=78534.0
(Please note that the red on black Cherry logo keycap is ordered by me).

I have gotten the permission from Cherry and GMK.
So this set will come out maybe in the next some months.
That's not the competitive action, I wish he can also do some amazing keycaps.
