I have retired from site staff
« on: Thu, 02 July 2015, 19:53:06 »
Folks,

As of today, I am no longer a geekhack.org staff member. As you might have noticed, I have not had the time in the last 10 months or so to be as active as the site deserves. Because of new obligations, I am no longer able to reliably perform staff duties and hence have chosen to pass the torch back to iMav. I want to thank everyone in the community for their support during my time in site management; it's been hectic and fun, but it's time for me to move on from working on geekhack.org. So, right, thank you everyone!

I will be roaming around, but significantly less available. Please direct all staff inquiries to site moderators and/or iMav.

Many thanks for all of your considerable efforts over the years in keeping GH not only running, but available to nurture a vibrant and insightful community of like-minded enthusiasts:)

Best wishes for your future endeavours!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I've pretty much retired from the forums, but wanted to throw in and say thank you for jumping in those years ago, the work, the dedication, the inspiration and the friendship.

Sorry to hear you're stepping down Mkawa, I wish you all the luck in the world in your future endeavors....will geekhackers still be operational, or will that be on halt too? I hope you'll still be able to come to future keycons if your schedule permits.

geekhackers has to fill its remaining obligations before i make any long-term decisions about it. in the meantime, the 951sxe will be continually available, i will attempt to keep soldapullts in stock, and possibly a few more items as i work out drop-ship fulfillment for them or i can work out the logistics of batch production and packing (eg, handy soldering tools kit or krytox variety kit). i am also going to start keeping edysn iron tips in stock for the folks humming along with their cl1481s and 951sxes.

oh, and there will be PCBs.

yah, so i guess it's not going away anytime soon.

Just saw this.  Thanks for all your work for this site over the years.  I don't think most people realize the real people behind the scenes that make the forum happen.
