Got my Model M replacement controller today, but keyboard is at work. Also I need then a new Pexon cable, since the one I have now on my SSK is a Mini USB cable for the Teensy I use.

How hard is the installation of this? I am thinking of getting one for the SSK I have coming next week so I can use fancy cables.

It is very easy, you just need the correct tool (5,5mm or 7/32" nut driver) to open a Model M case, and swap the controllers!

These controllers are great, I have one in my SSK. Programmability and USB are awesome features! It's nice to have the choice between Soarers and TMK as well.

That is good to know, I will more than likely swap controllers.

^At first it felt weird but I actually got used to it now. Doesn't feel that bad at all.  The alpha are from feng's website OEM profiles.  I should have bought the grey modifiers for my numpad but oh well.

I don't know, but it's exciting! :D
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Good situation!
