I absolutely adore the font, but I can't get past the fact that I'm an ABS guy and PBT sets just don't stay on my keyboard for very long. Gotta go with "I wouldn't join the GB but will probably cave and buy an in-stock extra, and end up using it maybe three days a year, all the while telling myself that I'm done with PBT and that I won't buy any more PBT sets no matter how cool they look."
Doing this set in ABS would have to be fully uv printed, which comes with other problems.
I would love alt alphas with distorted/glitched legends. Would fit the novelties nicely and for the sub 40s/ergo crowd alt alphas with novelties are often enough.
I like this idea a lot and will try to make it happen!
I like this but would like to see samples before committing.
Samples are already done and from the factory video, it looks very promising. Will update you with photos when I get them.
dang ISO enter nov hits wayyy more than the ANSI one
I agree, I'll try to make another design similar to ISO for ANSI enter.

« Last post by dvorcol on Wed, 15 May 2024, 00:22:33 »I wonder if it would be possible to give this set the Greg treatment, to shape out a pair of goggles amid the yellow alphas. I think it would be more on brand for a playful theme like the Minions. It could be bundled with the yellow mods.
I did try playing around with this idea as it was the first thing that came to mind, unfortunately it just didn't really look good no matter what layout I attempted. The row stagger on keyboards really doesn't lend itself to a goggle shape.

add a separate full kit of icon mods while you are at it.
both beige and dolch icon mod kits are super hard and expensive to acquire. for beige it is 9009 R1 (2016) and for dolch it is Dolch R1 (2014) and Burgundy R1 (2017) that last had icon mods (with xbox backspace)
imo icon mods are also part of OG history. so would definitely fit the theme of this set!
Probably asking a bit much from where this ideal started so I doubt it. Although this is also a great ideal, might even be something that could run on its own merit TBH.

The factory is finishing up assembly of the F104 and FSSK this month.
The F122 has also completed production, everything except for the inner and outer/packaging foam, so I approved assembly to start. This week I ordered the F122 PCBs and the Leyden Jar controllers. The factory had some issues with their F122 sample even though mine worked fine but they just ended up fixing it by using another capacitive board (one of the sample boards was defective or damaged).
To save time in the past the factory would start assembly with the foam/barrels/flippers (the most time consuming portion of assembly) and they store the inner assembly upside down while they wait for the PCBs to arrive and for the time they spend soldering the controller/ribbon cable/capacitive PCB. Also the Leyden Jar firmware has been fine tuned with some slight updates for the F122 and now it is working well.

« Last post by Rhienfo on Tue, 14 May 2024, 22:22:35 »Ever since I got my hhkb, I've noticed that I've been typing like, way less hard than I used too, you would think I was using 100g springs with how hard it was, but I don't know it just happened suddenly when I switched off it to my mx board and realised that.isnt hhkb plastic though? realforce are steel plate
I think it might've happened because of how tiring it was with how I used to type on my hhkb, cause it's got that steel plate so when you type really hard it feels so stiff, so maybe my hands adjusted subconsciously so It wouldn't be as harsh or tiring. The only other thing I could think of is that because the actuation of the topre switches and it being tactile, but I have used tactiles that are like topre in terms of you push the switch and it bottoms out and I still typed pretty hard with them.
How hard do you all type, would like to know?
Yeah it is actually didn't know that, assumed it was steel like the realforce, maybe the stiffness comes from how the tactility is in topre + integrated plate + how hard I was typing, that's what I'm thinking.
